And we had such fun on the day. Mine is the brown one which has been totally restored over the last few years and I love every minute of driving her
A petrolhead never forgets the first supercar they see on the street, and for me that was a brown Lamborghini Espada in the summer of 1974 in Westgate on Sea during a family day trip. I can pinpoint the year with some accuracy as within weeks of that sighting I spotted a similar looking car that I'd never seen before and that turned out to be the newly launched Lotus Elite. It's hard to imagine now the impact the Espada had on an English street scene where cars like the Morris Minor and Oxford had only been out of production a few years. To me the Espada seemed much more desirable than a Miura or Countach simply because you could do so much more with it and enjoy that glorious engine with your mates. It's a shame Lamborghini hasn't revived the concept.Lamborghini Espada in the Anglia car auction in June>

Another nice period film here from 1970, not sure whereabouts in Italy it's shot but imagine walking into a Lmaborghini showroom and seeing three Espadas and a Miura...

I've been going through some old photos (well, scanning negatives of many photos I threw away in a moment of insanity some years back), a fair number of which feature lots of classic Lambos.
I will most likely start a new thread to put them up on PH but for now I thought I would stick up a few Espada ones from the Lamborghini Owners Club meet in Syon Park, London back in July 1990.
I'm afraid the quality isn't great and due to the numbers of images I am not painstakingly going through each one to colour correct or tidy up so they are a bit warts and all. In some respects I quite like them this way.
Anyway I hope you enjoy.
Love the array of bright colours - sums up the Seventies beautifully!

Saw BHJ242J in London (near Finsbury Sq) last week. It's now metallic blue...Take a look in your local newsagent for the September 2016 'Classic & Sports Car' magazine which features family super-cars including the Lamborghini Espada, Ferrari 365GT4 and the Maserati Indi. Well worth picking up if you're looking for exotic looks, 150+ performance and 2+2 practicality. It won't be on the shelves for much longer so best make a move to buy now if you're interested.
