I see one of the prototypes - 40002 - is up for auction in a couple of weeks. Looks absolutely splendid.

Is there much difference between this and the production versions?

No reserve, so it'll be interesting to see what it goes for?

There are differences between each of the prototypes and of course the production cars but both were based on P300 chassis/body units. They both retain the P300 electrics in the front compartment. Externally the trailing edge of the rear arches is different. Internally they both have two gauges, fuel and clock, between the speedometer and rev counter plus red switch labels and chrome rimmed warning lights and the heater controls are on the sub-dash. This car has P300 window switches. The first prototype retains the deep roof indent from the snorkel car. There are other differences and they can be distinguished one from another if you know what to look for - even when repainted, perhaps done to give the impression of more cars...Spotters should also realise that they have the early front bumper...

I can't believe no one has posted any images of this car at Silverstone last weekend. It's fair to say, to me, that seeing this car was worth the entry fee alone.
Congratulations to the owner on getting this car back to its original colour and the gold wheels are simply perfect. It looks incredible and I have no idea how long I spent watching, drooling, snapping this car.
I love the Silhouette and I love this colour.

Sorry there are so many shots but hey, this is what car forums are for right.

I genuinely can't wait to see it in the flesh again.

Two jewels. The colours of both are period correct and as per original colour scheme. The bronze is Rame Colorado, the red is Rosso Siviglia. The engine covers and ears are Canna di Fusile [correct for all V8 models] and the wheels are RAL Pearl Gold.

Thanks for the appreciation of the Bronze Silhouette - that is my car. I've recently done photo shoots for Evo and a classic car magazine so look out for it in print in a few months time.

No, thank you Richard for sharing it so much, it really is stunning.

Funnily enough I just read about the magazines over on F Chat. Great to see the Silhouette getting some good recognition from the motoring press. Can't wait for the December Car one too!

Cheers

Here is 40008 taking part in an event on Japan national highway 163 very recently. Note that the original early bumper with single colour lens has been replaced with the later bumper.

Absolutely gorgeous photos of this and the red Silhouette, I just wish that I had been there on the day!

I've always had a soft spot for the Silhouette, it always looked so right. I owned one back in the late 1970s/early 1980s, was a scale model and took me ages to glue together but I was well chuffed with it.

Evo with the Silhouette article is out now in their December 2016 edition... they really liked, as they should of course.

Yep, picked up my copy yesterday. Great article and the car just looks amazing. I'm glad Henry did the feature.

First time in almost 'ever' that I just picked up the mag from the shelf and went straight to the counter. Normally I have to thumb through it first.

Hope the Convoy II trip was good and look forward to receiving CAR to read that.
