Was one of them really pink - or is that just the way the photo reproduced?
Fantastic set of photos - looking forward to the next installment.
Yes , car was pink from factory, supposedly as per first owner's girlfriend's outfit with the interior blue to match her wide belt ( the then current fashion) as recorded in a Countach book. I can fully understand why the car was repainted by later owner but still think this somewhat romantic gesture or act of madness depending on your view, should have survived as its a great story.

Robert - here is a question for you if you are are reading this...

Is Steve Forster's old Countach below, the same one that Vic Sawyer (VFS 141) and Paul Dennis(?) (C416...) owned? I wonder, gven that the car had colour co-ordinated wing mirrors.

Thanks

SS
Yes. Also C323BYV on the cover of one of the car mags with the White RHD SV. Red mirrors and in fact has a dark blue interior. There is at least one morer RHD red QV with red mirrors (though most of them have black mirrors) but I believe the Forster/Sawyer/Dennis car is the only one with a dark blue interior.

BTW this car was also registered C537KTM which is in some more of the photos on the Countach thread.

Ah thanks for confirming Robert.

I recall the blue interior now from that SuperCassics magazine article back in 1995.
Hadn't realised it was the car ink the Performance Car magazine either.

I've just dug this out of a box in my parents' loft.

The good news is that there's also an old VCR to play it on, although it hasn't been used for many years. If that goes well the next mission will be to see if my old PC with the TV card works so we can get this thing digitised.

US spec injection car. As I have stated on another thread, I think this was a hire car at the time, but may have just been a rumour.

Always thought my photos never did justice to the pearl white cars. Was a lovely colour, although I recalled if parked next to a non-pearl white car they did look like they were a little dirty.

Yes I remember seeing the pink Countach at Portman Lamborghini in the 80s, it was on display in their window for a period of time as well.

Wow, what a turn up! Not a rental then?

What did the gold plaque on the glove box say? Was always curious of that.

Hope you liked seeing the photos again.

The car was specially made by lambo for someone, can't remember who though! The gold plaque said the guys name (will see if my dad can remember) also from memory the interiors was slightly different to normal and was all triple stitched

It's always good seeing pictures of the old carrera sport test days

Hi Steve

Had to take the time to FINALLY register on PH after stumbling onto your thread trying to find some pics from the old Combe Test Days.

Thanks a whole heap for taking the time to post up your scans (and to other users on here too). Really brought back fond memories. Seems we attended the same events back in the day!

At the time I was a teenager with a VW Polo living down the road from Combe in Yatton Keynell and - probably as a result of being able to watch Quarry Corner from my bedroom window - ended up heavily into cars. (Dad was a car nut too).

So the good news is that I have about 30-50 images from a few Combe supercar test days from 90-92 in a photo album somewhere in my loft. So on my return to the UK on Thursday I'll see if I can't dig them out and post them up on here. From memory there's a lot of stills of Countachs, Panteras GT5Ss (F1ASH and 500FAB), Lotus Carltons, the same Skyline R32 as spotted earlier on this thread and - hopefully - a few of a super rare Longchamps GTS with a flip/pearl burgundy paint job and massive arches (a la Koenig/Strosek etc) which I believe was acting s. showcase for PPP Paints at the time ???

Some slightly off-topic comments from me, so apologies, but hopefully in a few days I can add to the nostalgia!

All the best!

Mike

Hi Mike,

If you are referring to me, it's not Steve, it's David. Doesn't matter, glad you've taken the time to register and make yourself known!

I'm glad you've enjoyed seeing the snaps and stirring fond memories of the old test days. I, as I am sure everyone else, would love to see what pictures you have lurking away in the loft and it would be great if you want to share them on this thread.
There must be plenty of other secret hoards of supercar test day snaps that will hopefully come out of the woodwork in time.

Anyway, look forward to seeing your uploads in due course!

Cheers

Yes there are!

As I type this I have literally hundreds of photos next to me which I'm sifting through to find the most interesting things to scan and post as and when I have time...
