David, sorry for the mix up!

My pics haven't displayed as yours. In order to see the other stills you have to click into image. How did you upload yours and on what platform?

Thanks
Mike

Anyone remember these..? Sadly no images of r32/lotus Carlton with smoking brakes/miuras(?!)/Ferrari/diablo/etc. I know there's a roll of negative somewhere...!

Perhaps the PPB I was referring to was the blue lotus esprit as featured on the vid (excellent YouTube post! Search Supercar test day Combe!

The longchamps is as posted. I thought there was a burgundy example on similar silly arches.

Could De Tomaso now have its own dedicated thread, please mods ..?

Cheers

Mike

Well done Mike - a good start.
Oh and sorry but we already have a Robert on this thread so you'll have to think of another ;-)

Seeing those really makes me wish I took more photos of non Lambo cars, but I was so awe struck by the Countach I kept using up my rolls of 24s on them.

As for uploading, I upload them to Flickr and then use the BBL code they provide to put into the PH thread. All pretty simple.

Martin - stop teasing and get scanning!
That reminds me, next week I will attempt to scan my non-Countach Lambo snaps from my albums.

Cheers
SS

Yeah, I know!
I might have to trickle them on when I get going, as I'm struggling to whittle them down to less than about 150! hehe

Why whittle? We aren't going anywhere and happy to see more over a longer period of time! 150 sounds like a good start :-)

Seriously though, having gone through much of mine I understand it takes a fair amount of time but I plan on putting everything up eventually.

Right then, just a few to get going.

Some Lambos at Castle Combe in September 1988;

Apologies if I have duplicated any of these over on the 'Countach' thread.

My pleasure.
But prepare yourself for the long haul! hehe

Especially as I've reinstated the 'whittled' ones!

These bring back such good memories, I was thirteen years old when I took these.
My dad took me to three of these Test Days, '88, '89 and '90, all at Castle Combe, and they were the highlight of those years for me.

It's like I've still got the rumble of the Panteras and the roar of the Countachs thundering round the track in my ears! biggrin

Interesting to see 'VKR1S' on the Longchamp a few posts up, I guess the owner liked his customised De Tomasos (should there be a space between the De and the Tomaso, I can never make up my mind)?

I'm not sure how many cars you'll be able to pick out from this one but from front to back there is a Renault Alpine A310, Audi Quattro, Sierra Cosworth, 911 Targa, Caterham and a Morgan.

The owner of the gold Countach let me sit in the car at one of the Castle Combe events. I could never quite understand why he had the car resprayed in dark blue as it looked superb in gold.

Superb photos. The beautiful low body Countach 653RU is owned and was driven by none other than the Lamborghini guru Mike Pullen of Carrera Sport in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, who I ought to mention used to organise the supercar test days in the late 1980s and early 1990s at the Goodwood race circuit, which were absolutely fantastic to attend by both owners and enthusiasts. Have some fantastic memories of the test days including several blasts round the circuit in a few supercars. Well done Mike.

There were also track days at Brands Hatch organised by Roger Collingwood of Kent High Performance Cars, now The Ferrari Centre, where Mike Pullen and others in that scene around that time attended in the early 1990s.
I have photos of Countachs and other cars from a few of those events too.

I might get to those after my Supercar Test Days photos!

Some really great photos - thanks for posting them.

Apart from looking at the supercars, I'm also enjoying recognising some of the more mundane cars in the background.
