Yes, I've quite enjoyed looking at the background cars as I've been going through these.

My last little batch from the September 1988 Castle Combe event;

I can only think that as this was my first event I was ill prepared with the amount of film I had, or I haven't dug out all of my photos yet, and at that time I was trying to capture images of as many different cars as I could.

There is a bit more Lambo stuff to come from the 1989 and 1990 events! smile

On to September 1989, still at Castle Combe.

I'll start with a few Lambos!

This thing excited me very much.
I happened to be standing near the road outside the venue when this went up and down a couple of times, it sounded like a fking 962! smile

Interesting Jalpa, looks like a LHD with dark hide but might be a rhd,

It is definitely rhd.

If I have any more photos of that car I'll post them on here for you.

The Jalpa has RHD wipers - They always point away from the driver when parked

Great top see so many photos of the track day at Goodwood run between Lotus & Lamborghini. My car is in 4 of the photos that I can see, and I'm in this one, in my Turbo Esprit queuing to go out on the track.

Nice one. Love it when people spy themselves in these old photos. Lovely Esprit too. I have a soft spot for the old Giugiaro ones.

Right then, it's been a while but I have now scanned some 'non-Countach' Lambo photos. Many are from suupercar test days but some from car shows and specialst places.

Espada first. I was lucky enough to drive an Espada S3 when I was 18 years old so I am rather fond of these.

So I was lucky enough to grow up in Halstead, Essex which is home to Eurospares - the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati spares specialists. I got to know the owners very well and, much to their frustrations I should imagine(!), I spent much of my summer holidays hanging around there so every now and again I got to see some nice cars drop by.

It's fair to say Eurospares has come along way now from its somewhat humble but charming beginnings.

This last one...sorry about the quality...was taken at the Portman Lamborghini service centre. It's S reg, so reckon 1978(?) and seems to have US rubber bumpers. Guess it must have been one of the last built??

That's it for Espadas for now folks. Onto Miuras.

Another Eurospares sighting. This was lovely and if my memory serves me well have Ferruccio Lamborghini's signature on the dash.
I guess I could and should clean the photos up one day but kind of like the feel of them.

A friend of mine had an Espada at the time and had Colin Clarke do some work on it. I was lucky enough to visit when the Espada was down there and snapped a few nice cars. It was quite an Aladdin's cave.

Spotted what I'm fairly certain is my old 205GTI 1.9 in the background of some of the latest photos, so I looked back at the rest of the thread (which I'd seen before) and then saw my son and myself in three of the photos. Not sure how I missed them. Those were great events. Thanks for posting the photos.

Amazing. Didn't Colin Clarke have any Countachs at his place that day? Love the black Miura SV at Eurospares. Nice. These photos are amazing guys. I've have a pic of that silver Espada at Portmans. I'll dig it out and post it.

I wonder if that is my Maserati Bora lurking behind that Espada - if so it would be before I owned it.

Robin - that photo would have been taken around 1990/1991. The blue Espada is my friend's one that we went to see, as it was having its engine rebuilt.

Robert - alas I don't recall any Countaches at Colin's on that visit. Sure I would've taken photos if I had and I don't recall Colin asking me not to take photos of certain cars.

Hi

Here is the Espada (if that helps) that was in the truck above BGF877S I think.

Also, a photo (not mine) of 2RAL which is above - just love the colour!
