Great photos OP, many thanks for sharing those, I could look at them all day! I know it's been done to death but the Miura still shocks and delights in equal measure with its sheer beauty, the shape, proportions and details were 'right' from day one.

There are some terrific clips on youtube, I've been watching these repeatedly of late...

Well that was a surprise - seeing this thread mentioned on the home page of PH under TOTD latest news and features!
I'd be grateful if we can keep the photos to old 'more period' snaps please.

Despite what the TOTD article says, I make no apologies for the non Lambo content that I snapped at these type of events. When I get the Silverstone snaps up I can keep it more related to these wonderful raging bulls.

Here are my next batch...
So for some reason I recall this event was billed rather oddly as Lotus and Lamborghini club 'test' day at Goodwood back in 1993. Well that is what is written on the old 'Regency' photo wallet, though there is quite a mix of cars. Thinking about it now, it is entirely posisble that some negative strips have got mixed up. Just found some photos in an album from that event of an LP400 and a Miura together. Will get those scanned and up here soon.

Thanks for the appreciative words so far too. Glad I can share and glad people are enjoying them.

Cheers
SS

Yes it's a replica but the (real) GT40 is quite possibly my favourite road racer of all time. Had a close shave.

Is it wrong that my eye was immediately drawn to the beige Cavalier in the background? paperbag

Did anyone else used to go to the Supercar days at Castle Combe in the late '80s / early '90s? Think it was run by World Sports Car magazine. Mostly De Tomaso but usually a few Lamborghinis thrown in for good measure. I need to find my photos from these!

Hi Nicholas, yes I went to the Castle Combe ones too and I have plenty of photos to share later. You are right, they were predominately run by the De Tomaso club , then by the magazine. Still have one or two of the articles from those mags on the track days. Maybe I should scan those too!

Dig yours out and share, would be fantastic to see them.

Look forward to seeing those. Wish I could share those Combe pics but they're back at my dad's house in an old Truprint envelope somewhere! If I do find them, I'll scan them & come back here.

Some brilliant photos posted on here especially from the Carrera Sport Supercar Test Days at Goodwood in the 1980s which took me back a few years. Thank you.

Wait a second, that's not one of the two Turbo S prototypes that Lamborghini built, is it?

Possibly just a 'turbo' badge... biggrin

Was that the show where the brown McLaren F1 was shown? Did you get pictures of it?

I remember being at one of these at Goodwood in the 90s in my Countach, when some bloke came up to me and said that his wife had always wanted a ride in one and would I oblige?

I was a little reluctant but said yes in the end. We wandered over to her and she was absolutely gorgeous.

Off we went for a few laps and she flirted outrageously with me the whole way.

We got back. She got out to her waiting hubby and my girlfriend, who'd been watching from the side, wondered what the hell was going on...........

The original yellow LP500 isn't it...? That poor car died about twelve miles from my house, hitting a concrete block at MIRA at 30mph! It was painted flat red all over (including the wheels) and covered in stickers before it met its untimely demise.

VFS 141 above was Vic Sawyer.
I remember him overtaking me once in his new blue Diablo at what must have been 165-170mph on the dual carriage way that goes into Silverstone.
It really was the most amazing noise..........

Found some more from the LOC event at Syon Park. If you are wonderig why there are different quality images, well the better ones were taken by my Dad on his nicer camera.

And this is me standing next to Steve Forster's (?) QV. I can't work out why it has the same reg as the White anniversary. I don't recall going to such an event twice. I must have got some snaps mixed up. Anyway doesn't matter too much I guess. The main thing is putting them up and sharing.
