How accurate are these things (bodywise) to the real thing? To my untrained eye, this looks quite close!

Wonder what it's like to drive with a BMW V12...

As someone who has been mad on the real thing for over 30 years, every single replica looks like a replica. Even in photos. This one is one of the best I've seen, but still it does not look like the real thing.

From the photos, the car looks pretty good externally. I wonder how much it would cost to take this, put in a modern dash and interior and replace the engine with something newer like the Audi V10. So you don't go down the route of pretending its a real Countach, but instead its unashamedly a modern 'homage'.

Went for £57k apparently - seems crazy money for a kit car fake.

that said this one looks a very close copy and they have actually got the interior reasonably accurate, wonder why they didn't put a more powerful engine in though, something closer to the 455bhp of the real thing

Think ~95% of people would be unable to tell the difference. Bet if you drove it into yer local Shell and told the curious onlookers it was a £500k real Countach, few everyday folk would challenge it. Of course, you'd still know deep-down it's a cr*ppy overpriced replica.

Even if it's a kit, it's still a lot of car.

Isn't it like the difference between a beautiful, elegant woman and an inflatable one?

Yes, but the point is that the last one will cost you a lot less in the long run I guess
