That is my point. Mclaren are doing the opposite of building to demand. There is just way way more Ferrari buyers in the world due to the whole Ferrari history/passion thing irrespective of how good the cars are (and these days they are very good) so while there are far more 458s around, there is far greater demand for them. 1300-1400 P11 class cars ie 12cs/650s is simply too much per year of units produced at the moment and yet there are no signs of that slowing down and cars not turning up as dealer stock. I maintain it is insanity to continue to produce cars in those numbers but have to offer very large discounts to shift them as the perception then gets very negativ. Something has got to give either way.
How many more 458's are Ferrari building in comparison ?
Yes the Ferrari brand is miles stronger and always will be but McLaren is gaining brand recognition rapidly and will continue to grow( probably at expense of ferrari and Lamborghini )
In the UK I reckon there are 5-6 Ferrari customers to every McLaren customer but just look how many 458's are for sale in comparison to 12C

You wouldn't believe the discount I was offered on a 458 Spider, more than the McLaren and it worked out less.

Still chose the 650S spider as I genuinely believe its the better car overall IMHO. In fact I think the 458 is only better in 1 area and that's the sound of the N/a V8, an advantage they will no longer have with the 458T. That's where I see further McLaren conquest sales coming from as an evolution 458 less the N/a V8 disappoints a little.

Don't profess to be an expert or have a crystal ball but its my unbiased opinion and it works for me

I've been offered some pretty silly deals on 458s too, it just seems to get talked about far, far less.

What kind of level on a new 458 spider? I was told once about 10% off but that really equates to getting some options thrown in for free given they need about 20-30k to make them a decent spec

Agree you need to add a fair few options to get a nice specced car. My perfect good highish spec car was working out at £235k
Don't know if they are still taking new orders for 458 spider now but I was offered a lot more than 10% off for a Jan build slot / March reg'd car when I enquired in September.
I was offered everything off on a 1,000 mile mega high spec £245k 64 plate demo unit. TBH it was everything I would of specced on the car myself and more, apart from black interior carpets when I would of ordered red.
It would have been an easy compromise and I could of always put some red floor mats in anyway but still chose the 650S over the 458 spider because I genuinely believe its better

Camera is nothing like that price Shmee. Here's what I paid at Rybrook Birmingham
Camera M1211M0073CP £269.39

Lower Rear Grill M1211A3388CP £77.70

Fitting Labour £260
£600 inc vat all in? What am I waiting for haha. How long is that, 2 hours while you wait?
Nearly three weeks ;-) They were waiting for other bits ;-) Not sure if that includes VAT, will check when I get home for you.
My car went there for a second service and some warranty jobs and I didn't get it back for about 7-8 weeks. It has put me off sending it there again. Incidentally, has anyone else had corrosion on a front wing? This apparently was one of the main reasons for the delay in returning the car to me.
