That's fine if you are a cash buyer or not part exchanging a 12C and isn't going to help 12 C residuals

I was a private cash purchaser with no trade in because I'm keeping my 991S

Strong position then. I was offered £12k off a brand new 12C up at £178k with a list of £212k. Total reduction of £47k but I didn't buy it

Wow! 23% discount off a new 12C.
I assume less discount for a car ordered to your spec?

12C discontinued... they are shifting old stock, hence the big discounts there. I dont think you'd get that off a 650!

Don't see point of buying a 12C anymore unless its dirt cheap. When these hit the used car market late 12c's are going to take a big hit IMHO
Obviously I am not really impartial as I just bought one, but I see the 12C keeping loosing value over the winter, like any other sportscars, but start to get stronger next year and in the medium term even take some of their value back.

Explanation: the 12C is a more timeless design then the 650S. In my very own opinion, the 650s is the hugliest car ever made except in black.... The 12C are already 20k less then a comparable mileage/age 458 and there are, again IMO, head and shoulder in front of them.

And if you put in the mix weak oposition from the likes of Lamborghini Huracan, or the fact the next baby McLaren will have less power, will not have the fancy doors and come in at the price of current used 12C, it will help future residual values.

One last point. Wait until McLaren starts winning again in F1 and then we will see a lot less cars up for grabs and many more buyers !

Don't disagree, I think they are terrific value for money and will bounceback from the £100k mark. Its just a case of buying at the right time which I don't think is quite yet
Personally I prefer the 650S front end as I thought that was the only thing that let the 12C down as it was too plain

When you look a Lambo and 458. The 12c seems good value at £115k now imo.

As long as it' s had the Bhp upgrade and the iris upgrades etc cannot see these falling much more.

It was on the red one which maybe sold now reading another thread but I can't see why they wouldn't do the same on the yellow one if you're interested in it

The 650 is SLIGHTLY more advanced than the 12C, but the new front end splits opinion and the side vanes look very kit car. It however is not £100k better than a used 12C......these cars are the performance bargain of the decade, and in years to come we will talk about how cheap they once were in 2014.......

Make him a bid. He obviously is getting less than £110k in the trade
