Hello All,

Have now sold my beloved 997 GT3 RS and am on the hunt for a 12C. I want to get one in McLaren Orange, with perferable spec being:

Carbon Ceramic Brakes
Super lightweight wheels
Carbon Interior
Sports Exhaust
Stealth Pack
With the 2013 upgrades (616bhp/DRS/IRIS)

Ideally:
Carbon Wheel Arches
Carbon Mirrors
Carbon Sill
Carbon Engine Bay + Engine Covers
Carbon Splitter & Diffuser
(basically - lots of carbon)

Does anyone know of one for sale (am ringing round the dealers)? Also - anything else I've missed on the spec - i.e the must-haves?

Thanks,

Duggan

Don't know where you are located, but Orange is widely available on a Mclaren normally, see here 16 examples:

Also in 650S trim if your budget allows.

Ceramic brakes are difficult to come by as they were a 20k upgrade.
You might want to add IRIS 2, which is not included in the P13 upgrade pack.
Happy hunting.

Also, the carbon brakes are actually slightly heavier than the steel ones (the rotors are bigger) and are only of any real benefit if you intend to do lots of track days.
The steel brakes will be more than adequate for road use.

Nope they are not actually heavier but are slightly lighter (original 12c marketing literature was incorrect). Lots of trackdays with ceramics is a rather bad idea as well IMO as the brake steer eats the rear brakes rotors in particular unless you don't mind the replacement cost and the ceramic pads are pretty expensive without even talking about ceramic discs.

One goes through consumables at quite a rate (steel pads will not last much more than 2 proper track days if that, ceramics are better but perhaps not much more once the additional cost is factored in) as the car is pretty quick to put it mildly...

But the wheels get dirty if you use steel's - HAS to be CCB! wink

Congrats on the new 12C. Not too long a search to find the one you wanted.
Lee/Sean at McLaren Manchester are great guys to deal with so enjoy tomorrow and drive home safely.

Back home in London now after a great journey back down from Manchester McLaren - what a car biggrin

To think its "only" an extra £30k on the GT3 RS - just in a different league of performance and technology. The acceleration of the car is just unbelievable - it had about 80% of the feeling of sheer speed that I had when I got on my Ducati Panigale Tricolore after passing my test - that feeling in a car is something else!

First class service from Lee at Manchester McLaren and would recommend to anyone you speak to him if you're after a Macca.

Got picked up this morning from the Deansgate Hilton in a good ol'Gently Bentley:

Mrs Rat - she's a lady:

Back home in the garage - builders had to set-up a plywood ramp to get it in as there's still a bit of work to do outside!

...and once all of the external/internal kitchen works to the house are complete, this is what I'll see from the kitchen!

Loving the garage view but I'm so wary of people knowing what cars I have in mine its like Fort Knox.
Frosted glass, alarm, CCTV etc.... Very rarely even leave the cars on the driveway as you just don't know these days which is sad
And no its not Brookside Close before anyone says it

GRB - can't beat the view and we're also security aware for obvious reasons - CCTV, alarmed house and garage to police station + security lights and high walls. Was also good to get a tracker system for the car - sadly can't be too careful on security in today's world.

Oh and two huge dogs....
