Looks fantastic Johnny, congrats!
Things always look better in the flesh, I think it's pretty natural to have those little doubts about the spec!
Mines got no external carbon, I don't really like too much of it and I prefer the unbroken lines of the car. I'll know if it's the right decision when I see it Thursday morning!
(it's retro-fittable anyway).
Thanks man, you're on the home stretch. Take your time and enjoy tomorrow, days like this don't happen often.Things always look better in the flesh, I think it's pretty natural to have those little doubts about the spec!

Looking forward to seeing some pics.
Well that was a pretty good day!
A lovely walk across London early this morning, a bit of breakfast then into the showroom.
A quick chat and a cup of tea then down into the bowels of Knightsbridge to see the car. A very special moment walking through the garage and catching sight of it.
I have honestly never been as excited about anything material as I have about this car.
I was given a full run through of all the gadgets, buttons, procedures, nooks and crannies and I nodded appreciatively at the right moments, frankly though it was largely in one ear and out the other, my brain was way too busy going "FOR fkSAKE JUST LOOK AT THIS THING!!!".
I realise this stuff is very subjective but the 650S has much more presence in the flesh than it does in pictures or videos and the Tarocco Orange is so in your face you can smell it's breath!
A moment here to thank Simon Williams from Mclaren London, I have no idea if these threads are monitored by the car companies but it's irrelevant to my point anyway. He has done a fantastic job on this deal and made today's experience very special for me, he's a genuinely nice bloke and not at all pushy or over eager. If you fancy having a chat to someone about these cars I can highly recommend him.
When the time came to drive away I was very nervous, Simon bought the car up in the lift then got out, I jumped behind the wheel, he says "Do a right there" and suddenly I'm bang in the middle of the West End traffic trying desperately to remember what all these bloody buttons do!
I meant to take the relative peace of Queens Gate, missed the turning and ended up on the road that runs through Earls Court, 3 lanes squeezing into 2 at each set of lights and every maniac in London seemingly hell bent on cutting me up. Every time I got so much as a hundred yards from an Addison Lee car my hands started sweating.
Once I got on the Embankment everything fell into place, the car is superb even when driving reservedly and the reactions from people is far more than I was expecting. I've had a Ferrari and a Lamborghini and thought this car would fly under the radar a bit but it has made a big impact everywhere I've been today, I think mostly because people don't know what it is, nothing negative so far.
I dropped the top while in some traffic and that felt good, believe it or not at 51 years old I had never been in an open top car, not even as a passenger.
And those doors! It probably sounds silly but opening the door and watching it slide gracefully up is a buzz every single time!
Couple of things I need to iron out, I've no idea what I'm playing at with the seating position, it keeps changing every time I get out of the car, it slides back to allow easier exit but when I get back in it never remembers where it was, this is definitely user error so I'll have to get the manual out at the weekend. And I keep messing up the sequence of buttons when I start up and it takes a few fumbled attempts to get settled.
I popped out to a pub for some grub and took it round to show my dear old Mum but other than that no real journeys, it now has 84 miles on the clock so it's going to take me a while to run it in I think.
So far, bloody stupendous.
Partner took a quick pic in the pub car park on her phone but I haven't done any yet, I'll wash it Saturday morning, get some half decent ones and put them here if anyone is interested.
