Hi Gary, I was in the wife's Range Rover Sport yesterday. Very impressed with the whole look of the 650 spider in carbon black / stealth pack really worked well to my eyes with the fusion of the newer front end & the original mp4 rear end.
I agree. I don't get people who insist the fusion does not work. Maybe in photos it may not look right to some, but in the flesh it looked stunning.TISPKJ said:
Hi Gary, I spoke with London (ascot ?) on Friday and they were quoting me Q4-15 for 570 and Q1-16 for 540 approx.
Have we seen any interior pics yet ? I can't get the configurator thing to work on my iPad
Those delivery dates are in line with what I was told.Have we seen any interior pics yet ? I can't get the configurator thing to work on my iPad
There are some interior shots on the web and the dealer had some on his laptop. The configurator does have them but it's a little limited.

£126k would be nice, £135 - £140 puts you in a cracking 12C (in fact so does 126 but you get my point).
Currently I want a 12C but would consider 540 just to have a new car.
There is a lovely Volcano Orange 12C at Birmingham for £120k. It's got no carbon inside - has aluminium - hence the price. For me, it's the new car thing and I just love the look of the Sports series.Currently I want a 12C but would consider 540 just to have a new car.

12C with the 2k-4k miles from McLaren dealers are as good as new (actually better as they have had their early issues fixed).Currently I want a 12C but would consider 540 just to have a new car.
It all depends what you want from the car for I guess. If you want the exclusivity of the brand, the strong performance and a nice car, then the 540 is good enough.
If you are after performance and even more exclusivity, then the 12C is for you.
The 12C-650 are still ahead in terms of cabin layout. It is much more driver focussed (FRom my very own opinion). And it is in line with liking or not the carbon bits inside. I would not consider spending more than 1h every day in my car (which I do) without being able to enjoy the look and feel of the carbon parts inside. I even had the carbon sills cover added a couple of months ago, just for the wow feel it gives me when I open the door. I am the only one to see it only for 30s 4 times a day but i know it is there and I love it.
It is all about the experience you want.
I am going to the McLarenTechnology Centre on the 13 of May. I hope to be able to see (may be seat in) the 570 or 675 and compare to my 12C.
Spring time and the market picks up I think. Their well specced Volcano Red spider went the same day that I drove it. Stunning car.
The yellow 12C - apparently the only 15 plate 12C - looks like great value. Not my colour unfortunately.
Good to see them shift the cars.
When you compare to craze that is the 911 GT3 (not knocking the car at all), these - including the Sport Series - look very good value.
Gary - the next 9 months will fly by (the last month will be a drag but will keep you smiling during the dark days of January and February when your car is being built).

It says 570, but I think it's a 540 looking at the front aero.

VP106 - so it is a validation prototype. The production prototype will be next and then hopefully, assuming no major issues, production starts.
That one was up at the Ace Cafe last Saturday evening and broke down [pic]http://www.dpccars.com/gallery/var/albums/Silver-McLaren-570S-on-the-streets-of-London/Silver%20McLaren%20570S%20on%20the%20streets%20of%20London%20%283%29.jpg?

Given the price of a new 540 is the same as a second hand 12C - why would anyone buy the 12C (serious question)?
Want new, prefer the looks etc etc etc etc....Im considering both curently, 12C will remain at this level indefinately I recon, 540 after first year can only fall some.
12C will remain the big brother, 1st model etc, but a new car would be nice.
