12c - First Thoughts

Congrats on the car. However reading your post is making me feel worse. I have 48 hours to go before I pick my VR Spider up. I didn't realise time could go so slowly.
Thanks, fairly confident your going to love it, takes a bit of getting used to for sure (which I still am) but looking forward to some more wheel time.I want / wanted McL Orange as my first option, not keen on the Volcano colours and black is hard work.
Went to see this colour and really liked it, that combined with the fact that the car is like new and I was hooked.
I think / hope it should be a colour that always looks clean.
Like all of the special colours in the range, it is very sensitive to light, it can look almost Lavender in some light.

Colour looks similar to my 360 - Grigio Alloy.
Which means that the answer to one of your earlier points is : No, it doesn't stay clean! But having said that, it does look a lot cleaner than my black car....
Congratulations - I must admit, watching the air brake flip up on one at the supercar weekend (whilst I was outbraking it in my inferior car due to superior driving ability obviously ) made me seriously want one of these!

My 12C ws Volcano Red, the 650 is a LOT easier to keep looking good in Tarocco Orange! Does yours have a protective film? The Mclaren colours are notoriously hard to touch in!
Ben told me recently that they've only sold "a couple" of Tarocco Orange cars in the UK. Is that me and you then? Car is lovely OP, much fun coming up!
And I didn't know the trick about the aero flipping up and down with the throttle, can't wait to try that.

Wow, that looks flipping awesome. Congratulations! A lot of people said it was a bit bland when it came out but I think that looks stunning, and from what you say perhaps it's more of a luxury fast car than a big shouty Lambo-wannabe. From what I read they sound like a really amazing piece of engineering. I honestly think I prefer the original 12C look to that of the newer cars.M
Slight edit for accuracy
I can only say that it looks even better in the flesh!!

They are wonderful cars and OP's is a delightful colour.
Makes me hanker after my old one... I was a relatively early adopter and sold beginning of 2014 so I lost quite lot of money on mine. Fascinating to see the market come back so well for the earlier cars - I thought they would go under £100k as when I sold there was so little demand.
I still miss the bombastic performance but somehow under the radar the radar looks (my was titanium with lots of carbon and stealth etc). To my eyes 12C front end is infinitely preferable to the 650- far more cohesive look front to back.

They seem to have now reached a level and I hope that they will stay there, I have been watching for a year or so and would suggest they were probably at this level when you sold yours 18 months ago.My car listed with the options at circa £215k which is a huge hit for even the 2 previous owners to share.
A lot of scaremongering on here as I recall with 12c v 458 a year or more ago with many predicting sub 100k for both models, 458 seems a touch dearer now like for like approx 10k more for 458 but early cars, 12c a little newer 125 v 135.
Market is being supported by the likes of strong demand for 360/430 and Gallardo/LP models.
Also to note if you take out all the wanted and annoying sold (well over 6 months ago for most) and spiders in wrong section adverts for the 12c there are only circa 10 coupe's for sale currently.
