Lovely 12c there TISPKJ and in a great colour, but then I would be biased!

Ice Silver is quite rare and as Davek has mentioned looks very similar to Ferrari Grigio Alloy.

Keep us all updated with your thoughts as you get more used to the car.
Its basically Porsche Polar Silver or Ferrari azzuro ? california

Lovely.

The 12c really is a beautiful car. Much better front end treatment than the weird P1/650 headlights.

Can't wait to be able to buy one of these.

The danger of threads like these is that man maths suddenly kicks in.

I'd love one of these, but have always considered they are too expensive - which is the same view I have for 458s. But man maths has just realised that if I sold the 360 and my recently acquired Vantage, then the balance needed for a 12c would (more or less) be the redundancy I was paid last year. Which - according to man maths - is 'free money'!

Fortunately, I don't think I'm ready to get rid of the 360 or the Vantage yet - and I've realised those doors probably mean I could not get it in the garage which is a big negative. However, the seeds have been sown and thoughts like this are dangerous when they've started, so who knows what will happen next year. Especially since I have an investment maturing over winter which was probably targeted to a conservatory but could be diverted if necessary.

Must stop reading threads on forums....

Ha ha ..... conservatory is where you sit with your sunday paper when your old !
360 = 60k
vantage = 30k
another 10-15k and your good to go start looking.
doors have been commented on by friends however when open they take only the same space as a normal car door would, not sure during opening, I park mine outside anyway and push in the garage for safety.

Next ? smile

355 plus some dodgy man maths means I'm picking mine up at the end of the month all being well. Not sure it'll fit through the up'n'over garage door either, but that counts as a nice problem to have......

Volcano Red (looks brilliant), with some carbon fibre extras dotted around.
2011 car, with IRIS 2 and the 'softer' paddles. Sadly I'm 3000 miles away at the moment!

The car is stunning and lovely!
The chap, I can't bring myself to like!!!

I was going to pop down there this week but some git had gone and bought it! smile snatched from under my nose!
My fault...was going down there last Saturday but cancelled due to laziness (actually was the fag end of a 2k road trip!) I gather it was snaffled on Sunday. Snooze you lose, as they say!

No, really, I am sure it's going to a great home and will be loved! Congratulations! It looks stunning.

I need to get my act together and sort one out soon!

My 360 isn't red, and I think £60k would be a tad optimistic. It's a very good car though - particularly after the expensive service it had this year! - so with current prices it must be worth £50k....

I decided I should take a proper look at these to see if it's really a direction I want my car ownership to be heading for. Went to McLaren Ascot on Saturday afternoon to have a decent look around. Very helpful staff, and a very helpful owner of an orange 12C there too.

Although I have liked these for a while I must admit I knew nothing about them. But I did like what I saw very much. Strangely, the amount of power they make is a small negative in my opinion - my 996 turbo was mentally fast and that was probably slightly under 500bhp. Adding 100bhp+ to that - and only driving two wheels - seems a tad excessive!

So, I am currently giving it some thought. The garaging would be a problem - even pushing the car in would be a bit of a challenge I think. And at the moment I am still very happy with the 360 and the Vantage - both of which would need to be sold if I wanted to swap, and I'm not sure I'm ready to do that at the moment. I may need to wait until I feel like it's time for those cars to go, and it may feel like a more natural progression. On the other hand, I have called my insurers today to see just how much my insurance would go up if I did do that.

In fact, the thing that makes me hesitate most about seriously looking now is the 540C which I was unaware of until the visit on Saturday. That's smack bang at the same price as early used 12Cs (plus options, obviously) - which means I might prefer to see how that hits 12C values before buying one, but also..... I could spend a bit extra and have a shiny new one!

I suspect I will conclude that for now, I'll keep what I've got but that when it comes time to change a McLaren is likely to be my next car.

How are you finding yours a couple of weeks in?

I'm collecting mine on the weekend all being well, although due to some poor planning on my part there are now 40 tons of cotswold stone on my driveway......

There are a few Aston owners converted to McL's
I moved because I found the 12C/650 to be a much better GT car AND a better sports car
They really are Jekyll and Hyde, a placid GT in full auto and what ever level of monster you fancy in Active mode (depending on how brave you are with the dials!)
I was also considering a 570S but when I realised the 12C/650 spider is as stiff as the coupe and it has the adaptive hydraulics suspension and aero (unlike the 540/570) I was sold
I'd say wait until the dealers have 540/570's to drive then compare that and the 12C/650 to both your current cars wink

Another previous Aston Martin Vantage owner here and completely agree with that statement... I seem to recall a lot of the Aston owners were ex-TVR owners as well so it would be interested to see how many have grown up with similar car ownership careers!

+1
But it might be a special breed of AM owners. I did not have a TVR, but a Noble...
Attraction to British sportscars maker may be ?

Never did TVR or Noble
Had a 425 BHP supercharged S2000 before the Astons

When is the PHN Alpine South tour?
I'm hoping to take my 650S spider straight down to the Alps when it arrives from Woking.

5th - 13th Sept, maybe see you down there! There should be another 650S there as well as Wozza's & my 12Cs, and apparently a Zonda.

Mine will still be in bits at Woking unless I can get them to bring it forward a week or two.

I've ordered a 540 but have to say a used 12C Spider still looks a very tempting buy. I'm going to keep an eye on those until I have to fully commit to my order .. but I do like the idea of having a totally new car to my specification.

As Mikey says, it will be far easier to judge once 540/570 demo cars become available to drive.
