Goodbye V12V; Hello 12 C
Discussion
Op, was your V12V manual? if so did you find the arm rest irritating when changing gear?
Test drove one from Aston Park Lane a year or so ago and I just couldn't get on with it due to that very silly design flaw!
I wasn't sure if it was the seating (wasn't the buckets) or if just a stupid design

Just lurking on here. I'm a big fan of McLarens, but currently own a V12VS. I had the same issues with the gear change on the V12V. The stick is just in the wrong position, particularly if you're 5'8" like me.Test drove one from Aston Park Lane a year or so ago and I just couldn't get on with it due to that very silly design flaw!

I'd highly recommend you try a V12VS with Sportshift III and lightweight seats - which are absolutely essential. The S is a better car than the V12V in every respect. Take your time to learn how to use the gearbox and you won't be disappointed.
I wouldn't swap my V12VS for anything. Obviously a completely different car than a 12C or 650S mind.

It's worse in the light weight(bucket) seats Test drove one from Aston Park Lane a year or so ago and I just couldn't get on with it due to that very silly design flaw!

It's what stopped me buying a V12V
I must admit I never had any issues in relation to this- although it did have standard electric seats, so perhaps would have been a different story had it been adorned with the bucket seats providing a different seating position?

Well that makes 3 of us upgrading our V12V's to 12C! Here's my new toy I picked up over the weekend:
Yes indeed, there is certainly natural progression... yesterday, when I saw my Stratus White with Lancaster Sevenoaks on their sales promo video, I did feel a bit sad; though after 5 seconds of looking at my 12 C, all was good again v12v2013 said:

With the light weights the "wings" stopped me moving my shoulder back making the even numbered gears a PITA to select because the lever was too far back mikey k said:

Yep me too, just couldn't get comfortable with manual gear change position as I'm 5'9" tall with 30" legs and like to sit well forward. Gear knob was almost behind me and very uncomfortable. If I moved seats back I felt I was really stretching to floor the clutch and engage gear cleanly It's what stopped me buying a V12V
