While I quite like his quick reviews, his Monza track time in his new 675 was sadly lacking.

https://youtu.be/HbPQ0Sobkng

I've been lucky enough to ride / race it 3 times and it is 'the' best track, with Curve' grade' (turn 3 ) actually being the maddest / best corner on track (actually anywhere in Europe). Time spent in the car park with cars rev'ing is time lost on track. I thought he took the car down there to give it the beans....

Shame as I did think he was a semi petrol head, now this vid shows more the bling monkey side...

Come on Shmee we want to see more of what the LT can do, less bling, staged shots that just scratch the surface!

Time to take your channel to the next level - you have the car, now let's see if you have journalistic cahoonahs!

😆

Im pretty sure hes still running in the car, probably why he didnt push it, also when he was on the track it was technically closed and without the necessary security measures.

Sure for the photo's otherwise it was a normal track day...

Like I said, just hope he show's us a bit more of 'Shmee the racer' now he has the tools for the job. Bravo to him for spec'ing the LT in that blue BTW - does look stunning...

Just to add to the above, Shmee had his car delivered to by Italy/Germany (I can’t remember which) direct from his dealer with less than 100 miles on the clock. If it was yours would you go and thrash it straight away or do the sensible thing and run it in as per McLaren instructions.

Also I think even Shmee would be the first to admit he is no racing driver, if you check some of his recent video’s where he is receiving instruction he has a long way to go before he can purport to having Chris Harris levels of car control

As said earlier... "There's a perfectly good FF sat there ready to go!" biggrin

I'm sure odometer read 278 miles in the start up clip.
If it was my car I would not be ragging it straight away on the track for sure. Running in period is a minimum 600 frustrating miles.
I presume the FF is used and has some miles on it so I would be giving that full beans for sure though

FF has about 10k miles on
Think Tim would be the first to admit he is no racing driver, but great videos of the 675

This yes I've watched quite a lot of Shmee's videos and I don't think I've ever really seen his cars being used in anger- possibly because his demographic don't really care about that and possibly because if he does, he opens himself up to films on public roads outside of legal limits. Shame not to see the Ferrari being (ab)used though tongue out

I wonder if he claims the VAT back on these cars on the premise that they are part of his "business" - that being the You tube channel? If that is the case, its not a bad way to get the VAT back and write off all the running costs (and depreciation) of these cars. Now there's an idea.....

The VAT on that 675lt is £50k! No wonder he doesn't care about a bit of depreciation.

Hadn't thought about that - is it even possible?

And when he sells it he will have to charge VAT (if this is the case).

Charge VAT on the original purchase price or the achieved resale price?

So he's better off with it outside the business if the price goes up? tongue out

you can sell it to a friend at any time for any amount(and charge the VAT accordingly) - a condition of a car is subject to so many factors - who can tell after some time whether or not the price was right

Is Shmee a petrol head?

I doubt he knows how to change a wheel.

Lewis Hamilton, etc probably don't either but i'd hardly say they weren't petrol heads because of it.

Why is everyone not buying cars from dealers, recouping the VAT, then flipping them then?

It is if you don't sell it to another VAT registered individual/business surely?
If you are VAT registered (which Shmee has to be in order to claim back the VAT on purchase), then when you sell it, no matter to whom, VAT must be charged on the selling price.

Also thinking about it even further, Shmee is probably not paying Benefit in Kind (payment of tax for the use of a company asset for personal purposes), as he will claim that the car is used purely for business (i.e it is driven only when used in his films..). Nice set up.
