That 675LT of Shmee's is nigh on perfect. Great great colour choice.

I do think though that he is making change from Youtube when compared to some of the kids making Minecraft video's and the girl making makeup tutorials! The amount of money they are making is fantastic!

My 2 boys can't get enough of the Minecraft video's and those bloody stupid squeaky voices!!

I do though have to say I've always liked the lad Kyle (Saabkyle04) and his video's. I've watched these for a good few years and his profile on youtube has gone stratospheric, which I think has surprised even him. He comes across as very humble and feels privileged and is enjoying a very nice career alongside that of his achieving a Doctorate.

edited: some footage from the Monza "track day" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s617XMSm2u0 - described as the "ultimate battle" - watch from 7 minutes onwards for the good (bad?) stuff...I'm not sure I'd want my brand new 675LT being involved in this kind of thing. Looks like Shmee took an opportunity to drive it round at lunch when the marshalls were having a brew. I doubt very much he was booked on to the trackday to so he could give it the beans.

yes SOL had to ask the mechanic what the shaft between the gearbox and the wheel was called when he was having his exhaust fitted and called the black panel between the rear lights the diffuser, his car knowledge is shocking for someone who is supposedly an enthusiast!
Tell me about it, Paul wasn't sure what Porsche it was a while back (it was a Cayman R), so described it as a white Porsche until he could look at the lettering on the back of the car! Despite his channel name (Supercars of London), the last few weeks has all been about how loud his exhaust is, it must drive his parents neighbours mad!

Saabkyle seems like a very nice and as you say, humble, chap and I am very glad he is able to enjoy a eurotrip due to all the hard work and content he has provided. Never knew he is doing a Doctorate but he is clearly intelligent too.

Did anyone else think he was German? Lives in America, maybe from Germany originally? Only seen him as part of the Shmee road trip, didn't know of him before, will check his channel out.

He provides "in depth" reviews of car's that give you a lot of content that other channels will over look. His personal tastes are for the older american cars of which he's amassing quite a nice collection now. smile

I promise I'll do my best when it's properly run in to track it and film it all. In the meantime having now reached the appropriate mileage, I think yesterday's video on the passes in Italy and popping some flames in France hopefully suffices!
Thanks for the video

Excellent Q & A, eventually provides the answers that everyone wants to know and good on him, although I don't think he needs to justify himself. He has done well for himself through good old hard work and is still working bloody hard !

A lot of people would love to know what YouTube is making him but that is none of our business and tim is clearly a bit fed up of it and his partnership with ad sense or whatever advertising company may prevent disclosure anyway. I enjoy watching as he is very clearly a petrolhead and one with more intelligence than 'SOL - get an armytrix exhaust and go order McDonald's (the same as what the last person ordered please)'. A lifestyle though that most PHers dream of.

I agree, it is nice that Tim spent a large proportion of his Q&A talking about his past, obviously careful not to go into too much detail, but I don't feel there is a need to. He's clearly a smart bloke and done well for himself, even if he's come from a background that allowed him more opportunities than most, you still have to embrace and make something of them. I always thought that his car purchases have been very shrewd investment decisions and I'm glad he's admitted to this; if you have the money to do so, and can make calculated decisions, there is no reason why you can't run these cars for next to nothing. I certainly hope that is the case for Tim, and anyone else in ownership of these great cars. I wish him all the very best for the future, I really enjoy his content, more so than many other car related youtubers, and look forward to what's to come.

Reading his body language, I'd suggest another car is already on order wink

Some people are curious, some are jealous, and others are simply trolls. His YouTube channel is all about living the life of a supercar owner and obviously part of that is how you can afford the cars in the first place, and how much they cost to run. That factoid about running the 12C and 650S costing less than his 1-series and S5 was a real eye opener for me.

He's talked about his previous work several times in the past so nothing new there.

Yeah, Tim came across very well in that vlog. He owned a couple of 'sheds' when he was younger and doesn't appear to be spoilt, regardless of his background. I don't follow all of his content but for me he is the most watchable of his contemporaries, as others have discussed here

I think it was a very good video (and some of it was clearly aimed at this feed in my eyes), and its good he set the record straight that some believe it was money from his dad etc. Im glad thats been dismissed, he clearly works long hours (I think some don't see the amount of time video editing can sometimes take), and has several sources of income (which generally is the only way to become wealthy/rich/have significant disposable income is to have several forms of income). Although I am happy to be proved wrong if people on here have ONLY 1 income e.g. only a salary and nothing else (exclude dividends in this case wink ).

Maybe I'm young and foolish and have little understanding but to be able to spend say £100k on a car and to run it properly you do need a good level of disposable income left over. A friend on mine has had issues with his 430 this year, and in 7 months its cost him just shy of £12K.... Not a light amount to anyone in my eyes. That is excluding petrol/tyres etc.

A couple of super quick clarifications where appropriate but in general thank you for the support here.

That's bang on, first rule is that you can't disclose what you earn via YouTube or AdSense.

And it's totally true as well, the outright depreciation cost of the 123d and S5 was bigger than the 12C and 650S. Admittedly if you take into account financing charges, and servicing it becomes a little more even, but insurance was the same on the 123d 6 years prior to what I paid on the 650S - nothing changed there due to age and experience!

Do you reckon you could do the same today with the 650s and 12C or were you just very lucky with the cars you bought and the timing? Q&A video was good and apologies if I was one of the ones you were aiming your responses at beer Really liking the FF and would love one (V12, sound, speed, bikes in the back, oh, and sound), just not sure I can justify it to myself while I don't own my own house frown One thing is for sure though, you'll lose a lot less on the FF than you would have done in an M6 or RS6!

ETA: Another new car already?!!

EETA: A Cayman GT4? bow

A cracking investment as well- good job you did the Q & A otherwise everyone would have assumed you were a very successful drug dealer...

Shmee - did having a lot of motoring connections allow you to purchase a GT4 or were there plenty of slots available? I was under the impression they are going to be released in limited numbers.

It must have helped as I asked over a year ago and couldn't get a slot wink

Congratulations, another great purchase. It would seem the order was placed some months ago at the PEC; do they take orders from there??? Have been trying for a long time now; can't get one for love nor money! frown
