And it's totally true as well, the outright depreciation cost of the 123d and S5 was bigger than the 12C and 650S. Admittedly if you take into account financing charges, and servicing it becomes a little more even, but insurance was the same on the 123d 6 years prior to what I paid on the 650S - nothing changed there due to age and experience!
I'm a fan of your videos but this simply isn't true!Keep up the great work.

Liar is a strong word - man maths! It has been posted on other forums/threads that the 650s lost £50k in 6 months and 10,000 miles.
He stated something in the video and you said it isn't true, so you're saying he is lying, i.e. a liar.I will ask again: how do you know what he paid and lost on each of the cars?

I'm not sure where you want to go with this, £50k in 6 months of daily usage of a 650s is the used market for these cars - I doubt that is news to anyone who owns one. Tim has a huge online presence and images of the cars he buys and sells are all over the place. It would be impossible to loose £50k in 6 months of owning an S5 and a 123d.I will ask again: how do you know what he paid and lost on each of the cars?

I don't want to go anywhere. You seem unable to answer a simple question.Let's try again: do you know what shmee bought and sold all the cars he mentioned for?

Come on Shmee this is Piston heads we all have an idea.
This is true, everyone on Pistonheads is always 100% correct about everything! To be honest when buying the 650S I didn't know where the market was going to go, but it was a deal tied up on 31st December with the same dealer I had bought and sold my 12C to (at evens) and already had my 675LT ordered with, obviously it was quite favourable, although no special Shmee support before you ask, this was direct with the dealer. I sold the 650S via an independent for commission, although I'm not sure in any of these cases it's appropriate for me to discuss the numbers more specifically.

Ok Tim, apologies. I have clearly drastically underestimated the discounts that are available on the 650s from McLaren dealers compared to the prices they advertise.675LT looks stunning.
Good stuff Tim, can we expect a vlog on your GT4 very soon then? Maybe a collection video like the 675LT; after all, it is as deserving of one. Would be great to hear your thoughts on why you chose the GT4, obviously it is hoped to be a car that will retain strong residuals which I'm sure is very important now you have three very expensive cars.

Nobody here has any idea what deal I did on either buying or selling any of my McLarens but I can assure you I lost nothing like £30k on it, that's laughable.
I wasn't saying you did merely doing a rough calculation using worst case numbers in order to prove that Russel's £50k was definitely not correct AyBee said:

Apologies to everyone (particularly Tim), I had wrongly assumed 13%+ discounts weren't available on used 650s offered for sale at £224,500. As I say I stand corrected. Russell996 said:

I am just amazed someone can be so thick. You were absolutely insistent that he was talking st on something you had not the faintest clue about.Gassing Station | McLaren | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
