It is indeed, didn't drive it unfortunately, it's booked out for a while I think but managed to find a slot when it was going to be in the dealership for an initial mooch around smile

I tell you what, these boys have come of age. The 12C was a great thing but didn't impho hit the sweet spot.

This car is stunning and I say blows Ferrari into the weeds. I love the styling. This to me is a thinking man's car par excellence. Very Rowan Atkinson.

Makes me more than proud to be British! I'm fookin' elated!

I have a blade silver 570s arriving in the coming days/weeks. I regretably may be looking to move on for a premium if anyone is interested in one of the very first cars.

regretably Really? The really nice thing to do would be to let someone else take it at list if the spec is to anyone's taste, then you will feel good about yourself I would imagine

Might be worth List price, which is presumably what he paid for it, but will have to match someones spec criteria

Been speaking with one of the chaps at McLaren London recently on a 540C.

I've not owned anything special with 4-wheels since a 997.1 RS back in 2011/12, this is the first time I'm (very) seriously contemplating getting back in..

At £126k list they are asking for £33k deposit, £850 x 48 & GMFV £77k. Which seems reasonable if not uber competitive.

I've specified one to north of £130ish but not by much (if I take the carbon seats out);

- Fire Black
- Orange Calipers
- P Zero Corsa's
- Carbon Race Seats
- Black Leather Trim
- Alcantara Steering Wheel
- McLaren Orange Belts
- 8 Speaker Stereo System
- Tracker
- Alarm
- Park Front & Rear
- Battery Conditioner
- Fire Extinguisher (it's a British sports car after all...)
- Branded Mats
- Remove Lifting Nose

If that was £25/26k deposit with £800 a month that's GT4 money and I know what I'd rather have in the garage.

(I'm aware GT4 are £25k over list presently, I just want to have owned a McLaren once in my life)

I hate myself for bringing depreciation into it, in 3yrs what'll it retail for? 95/100/105k maybe even 110. Dealers will want a £10-12k margin accross it so I'll be in for either a £45k pill (£1250 a month) or if I'm really lucky £30k (£850 a month) and all I've done is my deposit - which I can't take with me when I die, some happy memories and miles.

Still want a 991.2 RS in 2018 if they decide to build one so the McLaren phase could be short lived.

Oh and I drove a Huracan last week, wasn't a patch on the Gallardo Superleggera I ran for a week in 2011. Nowhere near as much theatre, presence or trepidation. Sounded epic though!

Lastly if anyone has ordered a 540 please PM me as I'd like to bounce this off someone who's already dealt within the network before I get too carried away.

Why dont you just wait a while and see how the 570 fares? You will probably be able to pick up a 570s dealer demo for much less than list.

I like the idea of 'my' car being built - and being the first to own/drive/thrash/lose money on/be first on the V5 appeals to me.

Still miss the the RS and should never have sold it but circumstances dictated and that was that. Strangely I don't feel too bothered it is now worth £40k+ more than I sold it for.

Buying a 570S with 5000 carefree miles and someone else's spec (demonstrator will be loaded to the gunnells) may not represent much of a deal.

it may be a while before demos are meaningfully under list price (10% or more) but hanging on until March to find out may help me make my mind up.

Its always a dilemma trying find which version you feel will be the right choice for you.
My current one is... which is between the 650S used or a 570S based on very little knowlege other than forums and articles etc.
My current feel is the 570S for more fun and for the purist 650S however this currently is very much based gut feel. The options can sorted later..
My only venture with Mclaren has been MP4 quite a while ago.

Ah you'll not be getting that from me sadly, I'm the sort of person that jumps in feet first and wonders if it was a good idea at some stage later.

Going to see if I can get a closer look at one later this month.

Wow. That costs you £18,450 a year. And that's if you give it back after year 4.

I doubt it will hold its value that well.
By the time you will want to sell it, the tourer, the spider will be out and most probably the LT will be on the horizon.
