That would definitely be my choice as well. Officially it's 'Mauvine Blue' but all photos appear purple and apparently that's the case if you see it with your own eyes as well. I personally wouldn't want to drive a car like that every day, so as a fun car for a blast or a driving holiday, in that colour it would feel more special for me.mattf93 said:
I notice that they don't have volcano red as an option
What do you think to buying a car and having it wrapped if you want to change colour? EG buying in a subtle colour but having it wrapped in something a little different (but not distasteful).
I personally love the orange, but would probably end up with blue or grey If I had an order - would like to see pearlescent white physical car though.
Wrapping seems to work pretty well, never done it myself. But people seem to be happy with it, well on matte colours that is - seems a very good way to do it. I've not heard such great things about metallic finishes from people who have done that however. Of course online you can read all sorts of success stories but hard to tell who is genuine and who maybe has an interest in a particular shop getting business. I'd just try and buy a colour I'm happy with in the first place, lots of choice on these cars it seems.

and it really doesnt matter what others think in the grand scheme of things - the cars for you after all!I'd just try and buy a colour I'm happy with in the first place, lots of choice on these cars it seems.
Theres a fair choice of colours.
But I do wish there was a bigger variety of MSO colours you can actually see online without having to go to MSO direct!

The as tested price was £184,000, but it did have virtually every option ticked including full external carbon at £13,500 and the racing carbon buckets seats at £4500.
A very well specced car will be in the £165K - £170K range
Versus the other 2 at what ? £120k is it ? Car is too expensive as said before the above is 650 coupe money.A very well specced car will be in the £165K - £170K range

Options can be taken to silly levels on all the above cars if that is that is your bent

Err no! The R8 is £135K before options and the Porsche Turbo is £143K before options so how does that make the 570S too expensive????

I optioned out an R8 coupe last night - not to the max but a few desirable options e.g. sports exhaust, magni ride (no dynamic steering) etc came within a whisker of £150k!Options can be taken to silly levels on all the above cars if that is that is your bent
The way I look at it is thus. At this price point, if a decently optioned car is within £10k of its main rivals then the price is competitive.
Yes you can go well over the top with McLaren if you want and even more silly if you get MSO involved. But most dealers are expecting the general top end for a very well specced 570S to be £170k, an average spec is much more likely to be £160K. I can’t see a problem with that.
If you don’t want to go that far you can always go for a 540C starting at £126K which undercuts both its main rivals by a fair chunk

£160-£170 is too expensive for a car that 9 out of 10 people don't know what it is. The R8 and 911 Turbo have brand recognition that will take McLaren decades to acquire. If they flood the market like the did with the 12C, expect that £160k car to be worth £100k in 2 years if you are lucky. Beware.TP321 said:

Mate you are funny! So don't buy one because no one recognises the brand, however if they make great cars, sell lots of them and become well known then don't buy one because they'll be worthless!
Did a Mclaren owner have an affair with your wife or something?
Personally your first sentence tells me all I need to know about your constant rubbishing of McLaren, I would have thought buying a car you enjoy would be a higher priority than buying one that will be recognised by strangers.
Keep it up though, on every thread and about every model, it never gets old.

They have made some major PR gaffs but they are still young. The fact they can go up against the R8 and the Porsche Turbo and win is an amazing achievement
