Congratulations.
Music to my ears to hear a 458 owner now convert sing the praises of the 650S.
I've been saying it for ages now only to be berated.
No one questions the performance advantage of the 650S over 458 as its plain to see for all but the subjective stuff like noise, soul, passion and excitement always get trotted out in the 458's defence when the 650S has it all in abundance.
Welcome onboard the McLaren tidal wave of new owners

For clarity, from what I gather, you are berated for talking about the 650S in every thread in your distinct way. This does not reflect on the actual car. Music to my ears to hear a 458 owner now convert sing the praises of the 650S.

Rambo I don't think it's black and white like that - the 458 is a truly spectacular car and one that I'll miss very very much. I'm making the move to macca to scratch an itch to try something different and it was a very hard choice to make. Hopefully the Macca will prove to be as good a car as the 458! If I hadn't had either a 458 or a 650 choosing between the two would be a very very tough choice indeed.
I tend to keep cars for a couple of years then move on (I wish I wasn't that fickle with them). I wonder which (both/one/none) of the 458 or 650 I'll have pangs of regret for selling in a decade or so. So far only my 997.2 RS is "one that got away" and not for financial reasons).

Hi Skittles, congratulations looks beautiful and welcome to the gang, as other have said make yourself known on the facebook group. I live only 5 mins from Romans, are you nearby too?
Thanks! I'm just 10 minutes up the road so not far off. Were you in a white 12C yesterday morning near Romans by any chance? If so I was in a grey 458 pointing at your car at the junction!Skittles001 said:

GBR430F1 (with his (self)-hyped up blood red 560 gallordo technica things) is Rambolambo right? His MO is buy a car then get on the forums and talk the drive and the values up to death in every single thread he gets on whether its related to his car or not !

458 spider, 458 speciale or 650S spider.
Knew the speciale would likely fetch a premium being the last N/a V8 but setting aside the financial gain it was the 650s spider that won me over for its all round ability.
In hindsight I should of bought the speciale and flipped it for a profit and then go back for a 675LT spider
A bit late to the party but I collected my 12C Coupe from Ascot McLaren today.
It's an early 2012 '61 plate machine resplendent in MO with exterior carbon splitter/diffuser/mirrors/engine covers, sports exhaust, standard cast wheels stealth finished as are the exhaust tips and spoiler struts. Interior is black full leather with MO stitching, carbon trim, electric seats, Iris 2 and reversing camera.
What a fabulous thing! I've had to peak into the garage several times this evening just to make sure its all real Hope to see some of you and your magnificent machines over the coming months.
Pics as requested...
Cheers
Mark

Whoop, whoop! Well done Mark, that's almost a exact clone of Sarnies!
I don't remember seeing that at Ascot when I was there last week, it must have been tucked away.
Anyway you've got good company there in Surrey with plenty of other Mac owners. Hook up with everyone in the McLarencrew community on Facebook, search for "McLaren Owners UK".
