Can I join too, picked my 650s up from McLaren Birmingham on Dec 15th after weeks of deliberation... Best automotive decision I've taken in a long time. They are fantastic!

Happy to wear a hat, learn special handshake or whatever you decide ??
Can I join the 650s club too?
Traded my MP4-12C for a 650S spider just before Christmas, at McLaren Birmingham.
Which one did you go for OllieW as I may have seen it?
Being as there has been so much interest in used 12C's recently on here, I very nearly made a plug for my old car. Rybrooks retailed it and as they are no longer advertising it, I guess it has been sold. It was a cracking car and they said what great condition it was in and how well it drove.

For prestige supercars at what is meant to be a quiet time of the year for the trade, there's been quite a bit of business going on!

Great to see so many fantastic cars getting snapped up.

On Friday morning I didn't think there was a 12C out there that had my name on it, by Saturday afternoon I'd bought one, keep looking Ian the right one will pop up unexpectedly!

Keep the purchase details coming chaps...

As my car isn't ready yet, I'm Googling bulk discounts on Village People costumes...... laugh

Hi Ballistic

I bought the black Spider with the black lightweight rims and black/orange pinstripe alcantara interior. 4k miles, registered March 2015. Absolutely beautiful spec and don't think I'd have changed anything if I had ordered a new car.

I have to say I am so pleased I bought through Rybrook as their buying experience was fantastic. They worked with my timescale to acquire the car and helped every step of the way. Highly recommend them to any potential owners looking for a car, and Ian is very helpful.

Hope to meet more owners over the summer at events....

Welcome to the gang Ian, it looks a lovely car, we saved you a space without the deposit!

I quite fancied a Spider myself until the wife reminded me I have little hair!

Pleased you've got a good result after the disappointment of the earlier episode. (Incidentally I am still waiting for a follow up call from that same dealer after visiting in September to look at a couple of cars that were for sale at the time).

We got what we wanted elsewhere where our business was valued and that is all you can ask for. Forget the incident and enjoy the new car.

All we need now is our cars and some dry, bright weather!

Yeah me too. I also pushed the button this week and bought a 2012 MP4 12C from Specialist Cars of Malton. I feel like a traitor looking at and contributing to the McLaren forum as I've been an absolute Porsche nut for past few years and owned a fair few. I've kept my 911 GT3RS for all my track work but having been a huge Mclaren F1 fan since I was a kid and having had a go in a 650S at Spa last year I just knew I needed to buy one. I looked at the 650S closely but just decided that the 12C was a better buy for what I want (road use and occasional track blasts) so I looked for a low miles (3800 miles), huge spec with carbon brakes and bought without even viewing. It gets delivered to me next week to have protective film wrap applied to all front facing areas and then let's hope for some lovely dry weather in February (joke!). Also bought a 458 Italia last week so gonna be ace to try all three together and give an informed opinion as to what car is best and in what circumstances. Any words of wisdom from seasoned McLaren owners more than welcome.
Few pics attached, just love the Papaya Orange special order paint...

Congrats Dave! Yet another new 12C owner in the last two months. Looked at that one myself many times, virtually the same spec as mine, but a different orange. The original owner has been on here in the past.

One less for sale, and another happy camper!

An updated list to follow later!

Why a 12C and a 458 when most people see them as direct competitors and choose one or the other? Are you planning on keeping both or seeing which one comes out on top and flog the other?

Exactly that! Without sounding like a **** ...
Just love cars and want to try everything.
No intention to sell either unless I don't like them and I think they are very different cars even if on paper they do seem very similar..

Ha ha love it .....
Reminded me of a time many moons ago when a good mate ran a Ferrari dealership, other good mate who worked for him and was actually the sales manager asked one Friday afternoon "how comes you get to take home the 360 demo for the weekend and I have to take the polo ?"

Simple he said ..... Because I can smile

Thanks Sarnie,

I didn't know whether to be disappointed or not when I read Dave's post.

The car was Papaya when I bought it and I think that SCoM, having sourced the car for the for the first owner from Wilmslow, should know.

I'm sure that they will have the original purchase invoice somewhere ....

Dave, congratulations. There isn't a better 12c in the market for the price, maybe not at any price ... in my honest opinion of course ...

Hey Chris, thanks for confirming the paint, was just about to send John at SCOM the orange butt plug he sent me when I was haggling with him:-) Now I'll save it for the next one that says it is standard orange! And yes I agree it was the best one in the market, the options list was stupendous. I see you have a tasty 911 as well. I am up at the RS day at Oulton Park on 11th March with my gen 2 997 GT3RS which is hugely modified and runs slicks or track wets depending on the weather. It's very very quick, especially in the hands of Mike Wilds who will be with me for the day. I see your not so far away so come over and have a hoon if you can and say hello.
