I saw 100Ian grey 12c spider and OllieW 650s black spider in Rybrooks showroom when I was viewing my 650s tarocco orange spider. They are lovely cars and I hope you both enjoy them.

As others have commented, there has been a lot of recent purchases of 12c and 650s, especially from Rybrook Birmingham (great people to deal with) and hopefully now people are beginning to realise how good these cars are, it will help bolster future residuals.

Hopefully I will get to meet some of you at future events.

Took mine out again today. The reaction it gets is just great, people love it. Just a great looking and driving machine. I just chuckle at the early reviews of the car. I almost feel sorry for the journos from the early reviews.

Bought my 650S spider a year ago now over a 458 and when I said how good it was I got slaughtered rofl

Glad others are coming round to my way of thinking. I think future demand will grow as younger generations appreciate the McLaren brand more and are not the die hard Ferrari fans of middle aged Britain today.

Can only see residuals getting stronger for early McLaren product purely because of the quality and exclusivity of low volumes thumbup

I'm surprised how many people actually know of McLaren cars. Thought it might be mistaken for another car manufacturer, but apart from one person who asked if it was an Aston...

Hey Chris, thanks for confirming the paint, was just about to send John at SCOM the orange butt plug he sent me when I was haggling with him:-) Now I'll save it for the next one that says it is standard orange! And yes I agree it was the best one in the market, the options list was stupendous. I see you have a tasty 911 as well. I am up at the RS day at Oulton Park on 11th March with my gen 2 997 GT3RS which is hugely modified and runs slicks or track wets depending on the weather. It's very very quick, especially in the hands of Mike Wilds who will be with me for the day. I see your not so far away so come over and have a hoon if you can and say hello.
Thanks Dave smile

I'm at the very beginning of the reserve list but will be coming anyway in the GT4. I'm staying at the Happy Guests Lodge on the 10th and will eat at the Chetwode Arms. If I can get-on I'll drive, if not I'll be blagging passenger rides from everybody I can smile

If I drive, I'll be offering passenger rides to everybody I can ...

It will be great to touch base smile

Cool so by hook or by crook you will get on track! Doubt if I will see you the evening before as I'm flying in from overseas where I live mostly (hste the rain!) and don't land in Manchester until the evening.

I see a couple of you chaps are going to the McLaren Ascot meet on 28th Feb: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

It'd be good to catch up with you - once our cars are parked up though, how will we recognise each other...?! Red carnations all round? biggrin

that was a nice, well specced low mileage car.....seemed a bit cheap to me!

Would have gone to see that one if I hadn't bought one recently!

Exactly what I thought when it came on the market very recently - just goes to show the off-season demand at the moment.

PS - am signed up for the McLaren Ascot meet, so hopefully will see a few of you there.

Well done to everyone who went all in and committed to buying a 650S.

I did not have the money. Don't have it still. But will have it by the middle of the year.

The way things are going, I can see 650S residuals firming up considerably. Stock is very limited now. There are few cars around.

I venture that future McLaren are going to be more expensive and supply looks restricted going forward.

Well done for keeping the faith. Some of the detractors who were really kicking off about 650S residuals are looking rather silly now.

By the time I am ready to get one, I don't think there will be any bargains to be had. Oh well. smile

Spot on. Felt like you had to have balls of steel when placing the order initially due to the kick in the nuts the dreaded depreciation was expected to give you but values are only going to firm up IMHO.
Its quite clear to see how McLaren demand is building rapidly and supply is only going to decrease as people hold on to them as nothing else can get close to replacing it without spending silly money up and above
Long term I think if it doesn't appreciate it will at least be a relatively inexpensive car to own from a depreciation point of view.

If 675LT spiders are over £300k a used 650S at £200k is a bargain comparatively speaking
