I saw that one. It is the cheapest on the market right now by some margin. If has nearly 10k on it compared to the others, which as you can see, seem to be all north of 180k/ 185k....duggan said:
I believe the White 12C at McLaren Birmingham has also now sold.
That was a quick sale, low miles and good spec. Anyone want to claim this for the list?Mine's apparently still in Manchester, hopefully getting a service and new bits, I'm starting to get restless now, would like it for this weekend to go up the Lakes...

I know of a low mile, late green spider (650s) coming up - private - loads of carbon, warranty etc That should be mid £170's - I was really tempted but it was way over budget for me......and too much of a wallflower to drive a bright green super car.

Cool so by hook or by crook you will get on track! Doubt if I will see you the evening before as I'm flying in from overseas where I live mostly (hste the rain!) and don't land in Manchester until the evening.
No probs ... see you there !Edited by ChrisW. on Wednesday 27th January 22:40

I thought the bright green was a bit much but actually I now rather like it.It occurred to me that in the summer it is essentially the same colour as grass. After all, in the summer the whole of the countryside is the same colour. So it will kind of blend in, wont it? Not bright at all. Quite subtle really, Practically camouflaged. You should go for it...

The white car looks amazing and I can't wait to pick it up. It has had 3 previous owners 2 of whom were car collectors, consequently during its first 3 years it only traveled 200 miles a year! the remaining 3,400 miles were completed in that past 12 months. I also searched for the previous number plates that have been on the car and then spotted it on one of Tim Burtons posts (Shmee150). I spoke to Tim and he knows the previous owner and confirmed its a great car.
So 3rd time lucky (I hope). The first car I drove was VO at Romans (great people by the way), the second the VO at Ascot, decided to go for that over Romans for the warranty, then after that purchase fell through I was going to get the Romans car but decided against VO and saw the white car at Birmingham and went for that instead.
Is this the one at Ascot that had the paint issues?

Do you mind my asking which panels it was?
The one at Romans doesn't have IRIS2... deal breaker?

Could someone explain the sense in paying 114k for a 2012 MP4-12C when you could get a new 570S for 143k? I appreciate that it is 29k, but 114k is still a big chunk of money and I venture to suggest that the 570S is way more than the equivalent difference in car. A stunning vehicle in every way.
Countdown to collection day......... 10 days ........

It's not possible to buy a 570s with sensible spec for £143k, probably closer to £170k (I tried) So the gap to 570s from early used 12c is 50%
I'm in the process of buying a 63 plate 12c spider - 11k miles - which is still £35k less than the average price 570s.

570s at £143k is literally the base price.Once a few options are added you are at £160k.....half decent spec at £170k+.........there is a white one on Autotrader at £180k........
Plus it has less BHP, no active aero and will depreciate like a stone if the 12c & 650s are anything to go by........a 12c at £114k and over 12 months you may not lose much at all.........
Horses for courses and all that

Ditto for me, I researched and played with different configs which racked up the cost from the headline base price to around £170K, was told of long delivery dates (which later changed to a March slot) but having lost plenty of money with other brand new cars in the past and seeing 12C prices get to their present levels, for me it was a no brainer...
A three and a half year old 12C Coupe with low miles and massive options/specification for this money...
Time will tell with the 570.
Updated list then...

Hopefully anyone else pondering about doing the same will draw inspiration!

McLaren Birmingham quoted me £2700 (inc VAT) to fit complete new Iris 2 + £500 if i wanted reversing camera. So no, not a deal breaker, just factor in the cost and get it upgraded, both for your benefit during ownership and looking ahead to when you sell one day.

That's the one. It was the passenger door, was much lighter in colour. I also spotted other variances in colour. I have now been told by a few sources that McLaren had issues with the paint supplier of VO in 2011/12 and changed supplier in 2013 and it was to do with consistency. Someone had the Ascot VO for 3 years and didn't notice, however i did. However Ascot are now painting the panels and addressing some stone chips to the front so i am sure the car will be fine. I decided to go for white as i think VO will be difficult to match for stone chips / scratches, i may be wrong and others may have experience of this. I still think VO is a fabulous colour but i wanted something easy to live with.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/m...

Iris 2 was not a deal breaker for me. If you think about it Iris 2 / bits of carbon fibre / sports exhausts and all the fancy bits can always be added, however it is not possible to take away miles or add service history so they are more important in the long run.
For me it was important to buy through McLaren with the warranty. If you don't purchase through McLaren you need to own the car for 90 days before you can purchase the warranty. For some people this will be fine if they have large cash reserves to pay for any fault, I would rather call McLaren and know anything will be dealt with. After that mileage is important in terms of depreciation. Buying a 25,000 mile car, driving 5,000 miles a year for 2 years will result in a 35,000 mile car. Buying a 5,000 mile car will result in a 15,000 mile car in 2 years. However the cars are supposed to relish miles and there should not be a problem. However when i do come to sell / trade in what will McLaren offer me for 15,000 mile car over a 35,000 mile car. I would hope its more than the £5,000 difference in purchase costs now?
