12c trade bids
Discussion
I can't imagine how wealthy someone has to be to call a £110k to £150k car "cheap"...
But if it's relative to 458s that defines "cheap", then yes. But I think it's clear (and already discussed quite a lot) why they reached this price point over the past 4-5 years. And yes, they do represent a relative "bargain". The fact that it seems to be very close in outright performance terms to the best that other manufacturers offer today, is a testament to that.
The encouraging thing that I see is a lot of buyers of 12C going on to buy more Mclaren products. I'm sure this isn't universal, but it's good to see so early in a car manufacturers history. The most important thing to the future value of these products is how the car is perceived to drive/own going forward, Mclaren's overall reputation and the economy.

Great thoughts from many of you
Ok time for you to give me your views on future 12c Coupe and Spider prices
1 year from now
3 years from now
10 years from now ( I know it's a long way off and a guess)
My guess
140/170
185/235
250/400
In 10 years? The cars that are valuable in the long run (rather than in a bubble) are rare and ground breaking. Ok time for you to give me your views on future 12c Coupe and Spider prices

And what will it cost to keep a 10 or 15 year old 12c going?
Also there will have been a great number of these sorts of cars built in the meantime.
So I'd go 70/90?

A truly shocking car, I suggest everyone deletes every reference to this car, at least until I can get to Rybrook on Saturday.
Haha. What's the update? Did you go and see it on the weekend?? RamboLambo said:
Can remember being offered exact same car 18 months ago. Nice spec but both exterior and interior colour combo put me off even going to see it. Was cheaper than other lesser spec cars at the time and I guess its the same again.
I wouldn't say it looks offensive but suggest its not everyones favourite colour. I suppose its always possible to have the chocolate brown leather dyed black or changed by a leather specialist. If it was just seats it would be straight forward but if its door cards, dashboard etc it becomes more difficult
I actually like the exterior: I think the black and silver make a nice combination. Pretty sleek looking. The interior though... I think you'd need to see it in person. But great price for an official dealer with all the major options on it.I wouldn't say it looks offensive but suggest its not everyones favourite colour. The 12c is definitely something that looks and sounds A LOT BETTER in real life compared to photos and videos. Having seen quite a few at Goodwood and in central London recently, they're quite a bit lower and wider than you'd think.
Might make a nice second car to go with my V12 Vantage...

TBH I've got my heart set on a 570GT. Saw it at Geneva and loved it, watch this space (just don't tell my wife).
I am currently on the last day of a Pyrenees riad trip along with two Ferrari's, three Porches, one Lamborghini Aventador and my 12c ...2012 with the upgrades. Long and short it is by some margine the quiqest car, the best handling, and when kn the money is a riot to drive...if the 675lt is a faster car it is hard to understand how you could possibly be any quicker on the road. Some of my gang have also driven my car on this trip and all have been extremely inpressed with the car, to the point they are now considering buying one over gheir lamborghini's and Ferrari's...no doubt ghir current price level makes them an even more attractive option.
I have a 12C as a daily driver which is currently having the rear bumper repaired after someone ran into the back of me.
The insurance company have given me a Huracan as a courtesy car whilst mine is being repaired.
As I am a big fan of Lambos (and own a Diablo) I was looking forward to having the Huracan as a DD and genuinely expected to like it, but what a disappointment.
The interior plastics are all very cheap and squeak when you touch them which was not what I expected from the upper tier of the VW/Audi product range.
The Diablo has shortcomings compared to a modern supercar but that's to be expected and part of its character, but the Huracan likewise has some significant shortcomings and there's no way I could live with it as a DD.
If you want to go everywhere shouting like a hooligan an givin' it large, then you won't be disappointed, but really that is all it does.
The 12C in contrast offers much more pace, comfort and refinement. It has a choice of 3 suspension and power train settings so can be a hooligan 1 day and comfortable & civilised the next to suit your mood. The interior finish and tactile feel of the materials are far superior compared to the playstation cabin of the Huracan.
The kids love the Huracan but it really is a 1 trick pony. Sorry Lamborghini, I really expected better.

Fair summary of how I found Huracan as well. First couple of drives would be fun but after that its kind of boring and down hill. The insurance company have given me a Huracan as a courtesy car whilst mine is being repaired.

McLaren offers so much more and grows on you the more you drive it.
Huracan is a bit like a date that puts out on the 1st night - you don't want to marry it or take it home to show your mother but happy to give it a quick spanking

That's hardly a fair comparison surely. The courtesy Huracan might well have been a very well used example. I wouldn't like to see the condition of a Mclaren hire car personally as i very much doubt it'd be any way better. The insurance company have given me a Huracan as a courtesy car whilst mine is being repaired.

The Huracan is less than 1 year old and has 8k miles on the clock. It is immaculate without a scratch on it so I'm not having a go at its condition, just choice of materials and lack of tactileness. The centre console is made from very shiny 'cheap' black plastic as are those silly fake bars between the console switches [which serve no purpose] and parts of the internal door pulls. I accept its probably a 'base spec' being a courtesy car and I guess there may well be a nicer alternative finish that Lambo offer, but whether that also squeaks when you touch it I don't know.
Er.........that's the whole point of Lamborghinis.
A one night stand with a model; Black Sabbath; a knickerbocker glory with a sparkler in it; heli-skiing; a bungee jump.
That's their USP.
I would be gutted if they did anything else.
The engine, the gear box and the chassis matter - not the interior trim.

Good insurance company you have there Ian.
Its not my insurance company, It's that of the person who ran into the back of me (Hastings Direct)I have to say they have been very good. They phoned me before I had contacted them and acknowledged that their policy holder had admitted full liability.
They arranged (5:30pm on a Friday evening) to have a Courtesy car delivered to me on Saturday morning which at the time wasn't quite an 'equivalent' but true to their word they swapped it for the Huracan when they got that back from the previous person who had it.
They quickly arranged for the car to go to a repairer of my choice (the nearest McLaren approved bodyshop) and their assessor signed off the work necessary which fortunately was pretty minor.
