I think you're getting houses mixed up.

Very impressive from an "oooo, big shiny house" perspective, but they all seem very cold, and I couldn't imagine living in any of them. They just look like posh hotels to me (and thats more than likely the look that the developers were going for). Given that amount of money I'd want something with a dollop more character.
I agree. They all look like a hotel on a golf course.
I agree too.

I like this house http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope... Though I don't like its location for that price, pretty crammed in and the access road sucks!

This is turning into the Phil and the plump lady estate agent show!

Having said that I do agree with the above when people say they are just like big hotels. Most of these rich folk are older and do not have too many people living with them and so all those rooms are just a waste. They were fit for purpose in Victorian times. These have just become something to show you have made it in life. Like the £200 000 watch so fancy you cannot tell the time on it.

Hence why they sell them. They realise they are not getting their moneys worth and can make a profit to the next sucker.

Getting back to cars, praise be, it's like a Bentley SUV that never goes off road nor gets dirty. It's just to show you can do it.

Here's a couple of houses I found today more in my style. One is iggledypiggledy ( a phrase estate agents need to use more often)

and I like this one as it shows a family lives here currently, as per the bedrooms ....

It's not my ideal house but they have done a good job for their kids. No biro scribblings on the walls either. biggrin

The most important bit about a house though is

1. Is there an outside tap for car cleaning.
2. Does the drive absorb oil without your wife noticing.
3. No over hanging trees for those pesky birds and their droppings.

You wouldn't want to be over 6 foot tall in that first house!

What a load of tosh. Firstly they convert lots of bedrooms into other things, such as office, swimming pool, cinema room etc. Secondly people don't spend £3m+ on a house "just to show off" because no one really cares! Thirdly, you can't have 5 cars if you are a millionaire and park them outside your £300 terraced house in London...with a big house comes a lot of land.
