Are these still available new ?
And if so at what discount ?

With the deliveries of the P14 still a year away, no 675LTs left .....the highest price McLaren currently available is the 570s

Seems like a bit of a gap in the range

650S is no longer in the production so there were a few demo's. McLaren fleet and end of production cars pre registered that came on the market temporarily swelling supply.
This "glut", 28 used cars at its peak, is now reducing rapidly as you have seen with 4 sold this week.

Yes there is an opportunity but you have to be able to spot it.

I agree McLaren is still way behind Ferrari in the way it comes to market but in terms of quality and product its right up there if not ahead IMHO.
With circa 5 Ferrari's sold to every McLaren exclusivity/prestidge of the brand is not the issue its the marketing and route to new and used markets that needs development.

People are always asking me if mines a P1 and where did I get the £millions to buy it rofl

With UK production numbers more similar to Scuderia, Challenge Stradale than 458 and 458 Speciale the supply is very limited.
The brand is growing exponentially and at a rapid rate but supply of the early cars 12C/650S is now fixed.

I think we all know what happens next when Demand outstrips supply.

Enjoy the "is that a P1?" because it wont last. In a few years, every man and his dog will know that McLaren make cheap cars as well...

Yes they are selling because they are just getting cheaper and cheaper....It's easy to pay £165k on an 18 month car that was £240k.
Yes but was it sold for £240k new? 12 months ago you could pick up a new unregistered fully spec'd 650s spider for less than 200k. The list price and sale price are two different things.

Just proves the point that they only sell for bargain prices..its a weak brand

At the same time I bought the McLaren I was offered a top spec 3 month old ex Ferrari 458 demo with less than a 1,000 miles on it for £54k under list price and a brand new one built to my exact spec for March 2015 at £35k off list.

I bought and paid more for the McLaren 650S Spider and whilst it might not have been the best deal on the table of the 3 options at the time it was IMHO the superior car.
Bearing in mind at the time I owned both my existing F355 GTS and a 430 Scuderia and was/still am a big Ferrari fan to chose the McLaren over a Ferrari required a huge leap of faith. One that remains fully justified 2 years later.
I love Ferrari and may be tempted by a 488 Speciale or equivalent further down the line but right now there is nothing that would tempt me out of the 650S

Anyone who thinks McLaren is the only brand that strategically offers discounts on occasions is deluded.

McLaren brand does not have 50 years of road cars pedigree behind like Ferrari but the brand is growing rapidly. Public awareness is so much stronger than 5 years ago and I would argue that the overall general publics perception is that McLaren is more expensive, better and more exclusive than an equivalent Ferrari.

My neighbourhood has a fair few Ferrari's and Porsches in it and they all comment on my McLaren but the 430 Scuderia hardly got a mention ????

Make that 5 sold smilesmile, was in McLaren Birmingham today looking at my'n and they sold another one yesterday. It's why I got in now, 650s are a decent bet on a car that is likely to go upwards. But to be honest even if it doesn't they are such an awesome car so what. I just enjoy it and somehow think I might be doing a good amount of miles in it, they are such a great car. coolcoolcoolcool

I also went to look at the one we are buying from Alastair Bols on Friday and I'm in love! The car is absolutely stunning and I'm now having trouble sleeping until I can pick it up on Friday.

Thank you,
There were quite a few things on the car I wasn't expecting including paint protection film and a carbon front splitter (I couldn't see that it was carbon from the photos). It's the first time I've bought a car which has turned out to be far better in the flesh than I was anticipating.

Fantastic! Was the protection film on the whole car or front end ?

The combination of volcano red and carbon is stunning. When do you pick up ? Or have you got it already ?

The film is on the whole front and lower door at least, to be honest I only spotted it by a little bit of polish on the edge of the front splitter as it hadn't been mentioned in the car description, it is very well applied.

Seeing the job on the McLaren made me wish I had done the whole bonnet on my Aston now as with that I have a visible line where it stops part way up the bonnet, however I'm sure it has prevented a lot of stone chips in the last 13k miles so that is a price worth paying. I pick up the car on Friday and am extremely excited!

The amount of discount on a nearly new 650 is ridiculous and McLaren needs to adress this in order to make their brand aspirational. These cars were probably never sold at full price in the first place hence the big discounts for a young 2nd hand car which just tells you that they are nowhere near the Porsche, Ferrari or even Aston brand position.

Don't forget they have only been "mass" producing for 5 years.
They have 2 production lines and don't mix models on the lines. So there will always be a few cars as "fillers".
As RL said there have been no new 650's being made for a fair few months so what is left is either run out stock or used.
The 650 replacement (coded P14) is already taking orders and due out summer 2017.
As for depreciation vs Aston, my 650 has faired far better than either of my Astons did and the quality is a shed load better!
Take a look at 12C prices to get a better picture of longer term McLaren residuals.
