Always dreamed of owning a 650s, but in the last few weeks, whilst realising that I can't afford one, I also realised that the 12C is a bloody fabulous car despite what all the hacks said at the beginning.

This one does look tip top to me. Was just wondering if anyone knows the car and whether it has spent any time as a ring taxi or hire car. hehe

Alastair is straight up and knows the cars well. Give him a call and he'll tell you about it, he's been selling them since number 1. Lots of owners know him and keep in touch, he has helped others source cars to their spec or do the deal. If you're close enough, take a look, pictures never show the detail fully.

Looks stunning, especially in the volcano colours. To be honest there isn't a 'bad' colour.

Good luck in your hunt.

What? The dealer wants to keep it rather than sell it?

What a ridiculous situation..

Not surprised as what can you replace it with unless you spend twice the money and even then you are still struggling to find something better.
People are realising what good cars McLarens are

Would a 650s not be the natural progression from a 12c and hardly twice the money?

Yes I agree and I can't think of a better suggestion as the upgrade probably more than justifies the current price differential hence why quite a few owners have already made that move but there will always be some that find it difficult to buy the next generation car and skip it for the next new model or an alternative.
12C to P14 is going to be at least double the price as is 488

Shame, that red one looked stunning. I can see why the owner wouldn't want to sell it.

Like I said, what a ridiculous state of affairs. Dealers like this seem to mess buyers around no end nowadayst. I'd rather deal with someone who has at least some control over their perceived stock.

What if the buyer had arranged finance or sold their own car to buy this one?

do you ever give it a rest. The point is a dealer seemingly agreed a deal then backed out, nothing to do with your McLaren fetish.
