Hi guys I have ordered my new 570s and there is a bewildering spec choice. The spec I want it's still adding £30k inc vat on the list.

I have looking at
Design addition pack 4
Interior carbon
carbon mirrors
carbon side skirts
8 speaker audio
Security pack
Sports exhaust
MSO black roof

What is a good spec ??

For whom are you buying the car ? You or the next owner ?

well you have chosen the best interior by miles so you are on to a good start, I would add painted brake calliper's, soft close doors, Tracker, Battery charger, stealth wheel finish, sports wheels job done smile

soft close doors,
Out of interest why?

I heard comments elsewhere from dealers that these were a 'must have' option but I'm struggling to see why.

Not sure what you mean by next owner?

I have all of those too!

trying to justify the cost as it's racking up and will it assist in residual value.

Some people spec cars for themselves - it is clear from many threads here that lots of cars are spec'd only with a view to resale ie the next owner - your query 'what is a good spec' suggested the latter

PS might the sports exhaust & 8 speaker stereo be considered contradictory ?

I suppose it's trying tyring to find the balance but the spec is for me with a view to resale. the basic car is 146k but with the options it's 172k.

However it's a big increase and wonder if that will reflect in resale too.

Well there big old doors and its nice to just let them down on the latch and they close themselves. no banging or slamming involved.

Also at only £600 they are a McLaren bargain biggrin

I've doing similar thinking.

As far as I can tell the only 100% must haves that I can find are the security pack and tracker. I can't find a Sport Series without these (not that I am trying to find one ) and every dealer I have spoken to says these are the must get.

Soft close doors, coloured calipers and a non black only standard interior seem the next most popular

Have what YOU want !

If you are spending that much money on a car why short change yourself. £26k in options is nothing on a Supercar.

No need to go silly but if you go basic spec you will be compromising and it will be harder to sell on and the price will also reflect that ( Not by £26k granted but without the options it will be £10k cheaper so you are losing an extra £16k over say 3 years)

If that's your train of thought you are almost better going billy basic spec altogether

How about :

Elite paint
Super lightweight wheels
Red Calipers
Ext Upgrade Pack 2
Stealth exhaust
Sports Exhaust
Security Pack
Carbon Interior pack
8 speaker system

I agree with RamboLambo. Agreed £30k in options is definitely steep, but if you are going to buy a car as special as a 570s, don't scrimp, have the car that YOU really desire.

Haha. That's great.

I think I'm sticking with the Spec - I agree a poorly spec car will not be as desirable and will take the fun out.

See! laugh. OP listen the Sarnie! Let's be honest here, there is no way of justifiy buying £30k options, let alone the car in the first place! But we love cars, you could definitely spend the money in other ways that would be more "beneficial", but the feeling you would get from picking up that 570S you specced to your exact desire the would make it worth it. Then you would get that feeling every single time you see, drive and hear the car. For a Pretoria head. It's a no brainier!

The best pack to get is the Track Pack. You save £10,000 versus ordering the components separately and it's a monster pack with acres of carbon, sports exhaust, palladium roof etc.

I just ordered my 570S and I only added the Track Pack, Security Pack, Elite Paint and a few orange bits. Came to £28K in options but I saved about £13k versus ordering discrete parts.
