I agree that the 488 looks old in comparison in some shots.

The only thing I'm still unsure of on the 720 is the squared-off driver orientated centre console - that to me looks like something from the 1980s and out of place in such a futuristic looking car.
I have sat in the car a few times, and think the interior/console are superb! Each to their own I guess.

I'm only going on photos so far. I was unable to get to the launch at Birmingham so have yet to see it in the flesh.

Hi Garyhun,

If you go on the configurator, ,( go for performance, carbon fibre pack 3, and interior secondaries C/F pack) then go to steering wheel, select alcantara, and it gives you a fabulous view from the drivers seat. It may not be what you would choose, but its worth a look. Then please tell me what you think!

That above looks much better than the tan one I've seen.

I think for me though, I prefer the simplicity and slimness of the centre console in the 12C/650. There's a real elegance and purpose to it.

Also - the 720 looks a little too similar to the original R8 interior for my liking. I think it's the squaredness of it!

Gary I am going to have to beg to differ with you on that one. The R8 looks very cluttered compared to the 720s in those pics

Oh I agree with that. I'm simply talking about the overall shape.

I'm not an owner, but the thing that irks me here is the size of the paddles - Im sure MSO do some much bigger extended paddles look far better and give better haptic/tactile feedback than the little ones.
I know this a pathetic thing to pick up on a £1/4M car but something I think should be right!

Are you having contrasting stitch on the alcantara with the carbon?
looks good as described.

I particularly like the Fighter style switches below the iris system. Should also be less reflective than the 12c/650s/675 Iris placement was.

Hi Matt, The Iris system has gone(thank goodness) You can't now have contrasting stitching on most things, think it is just MSO option.I am having Volcano Yellow, with stealth wheels, exhaust etc, so anthracite is the only option inside that works(for me!) The pictures on the UK configurator of the interior look better as it is RHD, which most of us are used too/familiar with.

Im sure you can't wait to attract all the flys in your yellow toy wink Have you been given a rough delivery date for it?

It'll look stunning I'm sure - are you having the 'glass' roof bits too?

Hi Matt, this September with a fair wind. I am definitely having the "Gorilla Glass" panel, It is as essential as the sports exhaust. Gorilla, because it is very strong. Hopefully with the paint protection, the flies won't be too much of a problem!

Was at MSO today working on my car, you can go for P1 paddles which are much larger and really nice to use

I believe there's an updated price list now where you can spec the longer paddles without going for the whole MSO CF wheel.

Matt, Woppum and AL, thanks for the really useful info, I loved the extended paddles on my 570S, and have just left a message with my dealer to add it to my 720S. I am anticipating a Sept delivery, do any of you know if they are available now, or will be by August build? Thanks.
