I'm willing to bet it's going to be bigger than the 650. Cars unfortunately only ever get bigger.

If Mclaren had any sense at all they should just release their press pack with proper pictures than let this one get spread any more than it already has and set most people's expectations of what it looks like as it's a pretty rubbish picture.....
570S is bigger than the 650S and its suppose to be the baby McLaren.
Strange thing is it looks smaller, but side by side in the garages its longer and wider.
I'm sure the 720S will be bigger again

Calling the Sports Series the "baby McLaren" was really a misnomer that led people to believe it would be smaller.

As for dimensions, it's only slightly longer than the 650S. The fact that it looks smaller is owed to the fact that its nose comes to more of a point and the greenhouse is tighter. The additional width is also negligible.

Length-

570S: 178.3 in (4,529 mm)
650S: 177.6 in (4,511 mm)

Width-

570S: 75.4 in (1,915 mm)
650S: 74.6 in (1,895 mm)

Yep that's how I see it, as, supposedly McLarens biggest fanboy.

I'm sure its a goer but it certainly isn't a looker.

I'm just not a fan of the hypercar looks personally. I'm sure it will look better physically than the pictures

I am hoping that is just a bad picture, looks small, the back also looks too low. However with reference to the rear, in the spy shots the rear doesn't look so low so I guess this is just a bad angle.

Interesting to see where this pic came from, whoever the audience are they all appear to be on the other side of the car as there is a presenter in front of them, on that basis looks like it is from someone on the inside.

Just wait until you get to see the car and drink it in properly. It is quite the looker when you see it in person. I own 570S, 650S, MSO HS and P1 and I think P14 is the prettiest McLaren yet.

This picture is horribly distorted suffering from some extreme lens distortion effect that makes the back look smaller than it is, makes the cabin look bigger than it is and makes the nose look out of joint. Look at the front wheels vs. the back wheels - they're fully straight but appear to not be aligned in the same direction. That's because of the extreme lens distortion in this picture. I've taken lots of ugly photographs of cars I consider to be very beautiful. Letting people photograph the car like that is just hugely stupid. Although here we are talking about it and I suspect we'll be talking about how awesome it looks when they release properly-done photographs of it.

It is a horrible picture and there's a huge amount of distortion in it. See my post just above this.

Thanks for keeping my hopes alivethumbup

You make a good point about the picture, it looks like the car's running 20's up front and 19's on the rear, let's hope not.

I take comfort its a lot better in reality from someone that's seen it physically.
Maybe it was a spy camera that was used in a pen or a tie or lapel badge. They are generally poor quality.
Personally I'm still not a fan of Hypercars in general and I get the impression the P14 is more akin that design than the sleeker plainer lines of P13.

I would never lust after a Pagani Zonda, Bugatti Veryon, Koenigsegg etc.... but I would a F40

Love it! At a stroke this makes the 650S loook like a dinosaur. At last there is going to be clear water restored between the 570 and 720. Good job McLaren!

That looks a lot better but still looks a lot like a Peugeot RCZ.
Sure its got lots of aero going on but its all a bit fussy for my liking.

Give me the cleaner lines of 12C/650S cars any day which far from looking dated look even more appealing now

Yes I think this will clarify McLaren's product line (sports -> super -> ultimate) and help them grow the brand significantly.

Plus I suspect there are several features still to be revealed about P14 that will surprise and delight potential buyers. Just a hunch! smile

Whenever new cars are released I always struggle to understand the people who can form and broadcast these harsh negative opinions of a complex 3D object based on a single 2D image on a computer screen.

Hasn't there ever been a car where you (not directed at anyone specific) didn't find it appealing in early photos, but once you saw it in person you were totally won over? I know that has happened to me in my 3 decades of being a car enthusiast so I try to be a little more reserved in expressing any negativity until I've had a better opportunity to review.

I'm reserving my final judgement until I see it personally as that particular photo is bad. The renderings are better but it still looks like a Peugeot RCZ with aero to me. I'm sure in 3D a lot more of the detail and curvature will come through to wow you but I still feel its more of a hypercar looking car.
For most that will be wow, great but personally I never really like them being so wacky.
