Great to see a British firm expanding its British products with a British manufacturing base. But fast-growing, high-profile UK businesses rarely last long. It's surely only a matter of time before someone like Apple, Daimler or SAIC takes it over and ships the expertise abroad.

McLaren used to have a chassis factory in Portsmouth, it made all the Mercedes McLaren SLR chassis, but then decided to make the 12C in Austria, making 90% of the staff redundant just before Xmas. Should of kept the Portsmouth factory & kept the jobs here in the first place.
