Thanks, I thought that was probably the case, but a test drive obviously isn't the place to confirm it! I'll just have to get my sideways thrills rallying and enjoy the 12c for what it is... and hope the friend I sold my last TVR Chimaera to, let's me buy it back soon driving

By the way, I should say that Alastair Bols has been a pleasure to deal with. It is only thanks to his efforts that I will be driving a McLaren rather than another SLS. Hoping to collect the car, once serviced by McLaren, in a couple of weeks 🙂

I'm taking the 12C to the Nurburgring (with Circuit Days) in two weeks' time so I can report back if it's feisty wink

I will be at that track day although not in my 12C, I'll almost certainly be in my E46 M3. Bit easier to keep your foot in when the car cost £10k rather than £150k!

I will come and say hi and it would be great to get a pax lap in your 12C

Ha, indeed! No problem at all. Just hoping it stays dry...I find it hugely frustrating / stressful in the wet at the ring. I've been very luck there over the last 10 years or so but never been this early in the year before so fingers crossed.

Nope. I'll be taking it pretty easy and hope others around me don't drive like berks. At most private track day events at the Ring they don't.

You're brave! I'm collecting my 12c on Saturday, will soon find out how feisty it is... Having never owned a car with fancy doors, I'm now due to collect an i8 as my everyday car on Thursday! Going to be a memorable week driving

Thanks, I think I've bought in at the right time: carbon black over imola red leather, manual non-sunroof coupe, £8k... am absolutely loving it. Have done KW v3 and Motul brake fluid and will be fitting Porsche brakes but not until after the ring.

Very nice! Happy to post pics on Sunday weather permitting - I collect the i8 tomorrow and the 12c from Alastair Bols on Saturday. Is there an easy way to post photos from an iPhone? I'm hopeless with technology, which is one reason why big engines, simple cars have always appealed - but now I'm going for a more futuristic combo I should learn how to post pics of them!

I find it easier on the iphone than the PC. Just keep your thumb down on the photo and it will ask you to save. Then you can just import it on the go.

3-Eleven... cool... will be interested to read your comparison of the 12C with the lotus. There are some similarities... I wish McL would do a simple, light weight, low power (say 400hp) version of the P11 with a manual box but it won't happen
