one q for the experienced owners on here that have bought used - what level of stone chips etc. should I be prepared to expect on a used car? I know getting McLaren paint fixed is expensive - should they bring it all back to perfection, or is some slight smattering of road rash to be expected?

Said "it's not a new car you're buying"
am now wondering what that covers. They have been keen to reassure me that it'll be great, but in vague terms.....
Just ask for close up pics of any chips they can see and then make a decision based on that? If there are others you've not seen when it arrives you have a bit of comeback I would think? It's a used car so it's not going to be 100% but if they say it is absolutely 100% it should be!am now wondering what that covers. Make sure they line up the drivers sillplate before you pick it up - being trying for the past 2 years to get the dealer to sort.
Can that be done in isolation or does it require re-alignment of the whole door, do you know?I'm curious as so many seem to have this misaligned I suspect it's not that easy a fix. Or is it simply they can get knocked out of alignment easily when climbing in or out of the car?

Look at the first picture in this thread. The door doesn't line up with the body!
Laughable that they put that picture up to advertise the car!
"But Sir, most of our customers accept that it's part of the characteristics of the car".Laughable that they put that picture up to advertise the car!
That's the BS they tried to shove me with when buying one.
"Well I'm not most of your customers so best you sort all this panel alignment please"
So, update - which is not quite what I wanted..... car fund rapidly decreased in value in the week after doing the deal and what with having to put funds into Covid-19 affected business as well, had to pull out :0(
From what I can see it's been sold now so don't feel bad about having to come out, but slightly sad that I'm not getting that car. But it's a discretionary purpose and no point in being stressed about affording it. Plan is to rebuild the fund up and then relook once the finance is in place and secure.....
