Hi All,

Put the deposit down for my first Mclaren 570s, super excited. Used to have Lotus's ( Elise, Exige, and Evora ) but then kids came along and had to sell them. But now they're 5 and 7 they can passenger fine so back in the game. Bought the car from Mclaren Glasglow, Car below got the 2-year McLaren warranty and fresh service on it but want to know if there is anything I need to know / tips/advice. It's going to get used daily and I was told unlike all my lotus's it won't leak.... So fingers crossed smile The first question, does everyone just chance it and not have a front number plate?

Its got some nice bits on it

Bowers & Wilkins Sounds, MSO Defined Titanium Super Sports Exhaust ( very excited about this!!! ) 5 Twin Spoke Lightweight Wheels, Lux Pack and Security Pack

Excellent, welcome to the fold! Get yourself signed up for the McLaren Owners Club, well worth it for the resident knowledge.

That looks a great spec

From re-reading your post, it sounds like you haven't driven one yet?

I'm also an ex Exige Evora owner and think you'll find the 570S is a very fast version of something in the middle of the two Lotus'

You’re right, no test drives allowed frown

Hoping it’s just a faster and slightly more refined lotus

Congrats looks v nice...you won't be disappointed on the driving and dynamics front trust me! Will be interested to see what you think of the titanium exhaust quite a pricey option new. Alot of new owners coming into the fold recently these cars represent such good value at sub 100k

How much are the exhausts new ? I heard it’s pritty grunty which is exactly what I wanted and a lot more noise that a mclaren sports exhaust ? Anyone had one ? They ok for long trips also ?

Did the same as you, bought a 570S from them having not seen or driven one before.

You will be amazed by the car once you get a few miles under your belt, they really are something else. I kept mine for 6 months and changed to a 600LT which is a few notches up to say the least.
They are quite low so beware of speed bumps and kerbs, the Iris is crap, it's all about the drive with these cars everything else is secondary.

Thats almost how I described it when I took mine home. Didn't quite appreciate the performance until a few drives were under my belt. I'd say it is more Exige like in how it drives, with the Evora comfort. Performance will surprise you I'd say

Think it's 5/6k for the titanium exhaust but happy to be corrected...my 570s has the sports exhaust I've taken it on some long drives it's fine when cruising at around 2k rpm it's a bit droney above that tho.

.......
So chuffed for you Tom.

On the number plates, it should come with the front number plate plinth which nobody ever uses, they do look better without a plate on the front but I’ve always had a 3/4 sized one on mine and never had any issues (yet) thumbup

Congrats on the car it looks superb, great value for money the 570S at the moment. Let’s hope there are plenty of opportunities over the summer for some trips out.

If you are picking it up make sure you give it a good once over.

Guy in my supercar club bought from the same dealer, 3 miles down the road the front bumper fell off! They said he must have hit a pot hole and refused to help.

It's all good now, McLaren Hatfield fixed it (he's up to 25k now) and as others have said they are great value for money.

Lovely. I collected mine Thursday but apart from the drive home in the rain I haven't had a chance to drive it again. Will try and get out in it today if the family allows me!
