It's not a flood title, it's a certificate of destruction.
I assume that means its never allowed back on the road?Do you have a source? Seems odd to completely write off a car for flood damage?
Also, someone posted a screengrab of the actual auction listing -

I am struggling to see how it can be rebuilt, all the electrics will be toast plus the hybrid system plus they made 375 cars in total how does he even get parts for it.
But it has a destruction title so will not be allowed on the road.
Edited to add photo as system down earlier

Thanks for the info, seems like he massively overpaid for it then at $500k?
It's only worth what it can be broken for and all the valuable parts were wrecked by the flood?
Well, if the ambition is to get the car in a more powerful version, and the car has better performance I would guess he will get his money back. It's only worth what it can be broken for and all the valuable parts were wrecked by the flood?
My crystalball says wiring from a 720s etc and 800 hp. If he sticks to the standard look, it will be interesting.
I think the value is already being realised with content that is paying him well as he goes along. There is also a lot of tie-in support where product and services are supplied free or at considerable discount so that they get exposure to his subscribers. I watch Hoovies Garage, Dennis Collins Coffee Walk, This Guy and Legit Street Cars and every one of them is currently promoting dry ice cleaning processes. There is a lot of cross over.

The battery guy said if it was him he's ditch the hybrid system but didn't hear Tavarish saying that that's what he was going to do, he just said that he's got some big decisions to make. Unless I missed something.
You missed episode 10, where he says he’s ripping all the hybrid gubbins outYeah I am watching but interest is waining with ditching of the hybrid drive. It's no longer a P1 Evo concept. It's a... Modified McLaren. P1 Evo would take what makes it a P1 and develop / evolve it. Ditching the hybrid drive now just means it's a heavily modded custom styled p1 which will have 800-1000bhp or whatever.
He seems like a decent enough chap and I'm sure he'll make money back from YouTube etc but yeah, it's not a P1 Evo anymore, or won't be anyways.
As someone thinking about getting a McLaren next year the background on engine failures is somewhat troubling, albeit, it does definitely seem as though this affects modified cars more than stock ones.

American tuner mentality doesn’t really align with the engineering mentality derived from F1 and endurance motor racing. He seems like a decent enough chap and I'm sure he'll make money back from YouTube etc but yeah, it's not a P1 Evo anymore, or won't be anyways.

The only thing I’ve seen which would make me pause for thought was the spring wear in the transmission. That being said, how much of it is due to only driving short hop journeys with lots of tooling around between sets of traffic lights
Of course it is still a P1, no different to one in which all that gubbins has been disabled.
It was only a gimmick anyway at the time when all the top end manufacturers were tinkering with it. It is now a pita cost wise for the cars that ran it.
You can register pretty much anything in Florida, so no doubt he will get it back on the road, resale is irrelevant to him, it's probably already paid for itself.

Surely it's all about the views, whatever he does with it

It's not really about the views though, why pay $500k for what is essentially scrap? There are very few reusable parts on it and the entire shell is next to worthless. It's commonly thought that a Cat D car is worth around 50% to 67% of a clean history vehicle. He's just paid 25% for a Cat A!

So you also need to make notifications if you transport the vehicle, or risk 5 years in clink.
