Pretty incredible and shocking you can buy a car like that for 50k.
Well done and good luck with it, a very good buy!

Great buy, so much car for the money.

Go over the car and get it serviced and a few updates done, (hose clips, soft close doors etc) and then just use it!

There will always be something that needs a little attention, but they are amazing cars.

the owner didnt reply on cc as he wasnt in the country
Last time I checked most other countries still had internet access! You can even get it on mobile phones these days.

I have to say you have much bigger balls than me buying a car like this on CC. It's a massive gamble, but if it pays off you will have done very well for yourself. These early McLarens offer exceptional value at the moment.

Big respect buying that 12c .It will benefit so much from putting some miles on it.Surely there is no better package of comfort, speed, looks and usability than one of these at this price.Good luck with it. It is definitely a car that has been on my radar if I decide to get out of my Noble at some point.

I would imagine its worth that in its sum of parts if you had to break it for spares, so i would imagine you would vaguely get your money back if something catostrophic happened.

Was interested in a 650S, McLaren handed out a list of issues to rectify. .Parts only was 58800 £.

Car had only two services done in 10 years. So, neglected.

PPI is recommended at all times, small niggles can cause big problems.

V Engineering could probably sort for much less as McLaren tend to go for new parts rather repair the issues …in any case the car is surely a write off if they were seriously quoting £59k to sort it.

Its a private seller. He checked average pricing and wants the same for his car. Also saw today that McLaren spotted a oil leak at gearbox. So, that might be a additional cost. Happy the PPI showed all the errors. The invoices from McLaren could be mindblowing. This was worst car I seen, ever. Looked great from outside, but with hidden failures.

Is this a private sale car that is currently on AT by any chance?

That is going to be very painful for whoever buys it.

I wonder if the buyer of the silver car will update here or will it be a never ending cycle of tens of thousands in bills and we never hear again. Could be 50/50.

Did the owner disclose that it was remapped? I don't recall that from the auction.

Pulling up a chair & watching with interest.

I adore the 12C, the prettiest McLaren in my opinion.

I’m in a position to be looking at Jaguar F-Type R / XKR-S and the budget stretch to a McLaren leaves me with little contingency for issues…

I’ll be very interested to see how this progresses.
