I think its one of the best looking small cars of all time, don't know why people think they're ugly.

A bit more range so you don't need a REX would make it perfect.

A quick question for the owners on here. Does the heat pump option on the BEV justify the £530 cost by extending the usable range in winter? Or perhaps that £530 is better spent going towards a REX?

The best EV range extender is the driver's right foot.

Going to have a test drive as soon as I can find the time - got brochure sent by BMW i specialist today (dated as valid from November so some changes this month?) - some random observations: the no cost grey paint has gone (only white available at no cost), the heat pump is available as an option for both the rex and bev. There's a sport package at £1,700 including HK speakers, wheel upgrade, led headlight upgrade and sun protection glass - more or less giving 19 inch "upgrade" wheels free (not much good to me as I like the bog standard wheels though I suppose it might help residual a bit).

Spent 90 minutes in the pop up shop in he Trafford centre today - very helpful advice form Tim who isn't from bmw williams (Manchester dealer) but an independent company (forgotten the name) that works to encourage ev uptake. Matt is the bother guy and he will be theeee later. Shop there until 22nd I think - they have a couple of i3s for driving I think plus a couple on display (one inside one outside) and an i8 inside too. Didn't have my licence with me so just a passenger ride - liked it. Next stop extended test and check we can install a charger at home

And just driven one for an hour or so courtesy of Ben Cornwell at Bowker Preston - great mix of roads - and I really like it. Just need to check charger costs (might need extra cabling from house which would be a bit tricky/ maybe ££) and that my wife is happy with me having one and I shall be buying one

I like them. In a sea of cars that look so alike, this looks fresh.

Yes, it seriously looks good. Makes old fashioned IC boxes look , well, old!

I won't.

About as appealing as genital warts. (and as good to look at)
Drive one, then come back to this forum. If it doesn't put a smile on your face (170hp, 1100Kg, 0-50kph faster than an M4) then you're not a true pistonhead!

Whilst I think the front end looks awesome, the "all glass" boxy rear end has failed to grow on me over the years. Still looks like some sort of awkward robot.

Other than that, I can't fault them.

Have to say I don't like the rear end unless the paint is a dark colour - then the awkwardness sort of 'disappears'

I was slightly disappointed with acceleration above 50mph but that is probably just in comparison to lower down which is ace!

Ordered mine this week via the Leasing Options site that someone on this thread very kindly mentioned. No options other than DC charging and metallic paint (at no additional cost). No Range Extender for me.

Lease company said it should arrive before 2015 is out smile

Maybe so, but they just look so bloody awful. I also want more than a quick 0 - 50 time from my car.

I love the looks. Have you driven one?

The i3 is a really great drive.
