"New" battery is 50% bigger than old one, so you can expect 50% more range.

In the UK in winter, i'm going to suggest that a typical EVs will be consuming around 280Wh/mile (~3.6 m/kWh).

New i3 has roughly 28kWH (useable) so that's a range of 101 miles, or pretty much what the Range-o-meter is telling you!

(new Zoe is ~35kWH useable, for ~130mile range in the real world)

Checking the BMW website they suggest 125 miles in comfort so the new one will probably do that in the summer .

Just had confirmation that my BEV is in production mid-January; at the dealer mid-February - looking forward to it!

Same here... it is nice to know that you can easily do a 100 mile round trip and not even have to worry about using the REX are cutting back/taking care.

Winter I see around 90 miles

I am I am, its a black rex with a good dolop of options. I'm waiting till March so just sorting out my home charging.

Got a quote from BMW on their new home charger (much smaller) and tbh it looks good but is twice as expensive as the cheapest units at £550 the only benefit is that it comes with a tethered 15m cable.

What people's thoughts on that?

I've even looked into the H&R springs to make it a more taught round the corners. Haha..

One thing for new owners I was told by the dealership cars sold in 2017 will now only get a 3 year / 50,000 mile warranty..... So I've got an open query with BMW UK as that to me is unacceptable as the car was sold to me in November as something which came with a 5 year 70,000 warranty.

Are you sure about that? Neither sound correct. As far as I am aware the i3 has always come with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty the same as other BMWs. With a separate 8 year 100,000 mile warranty on the batteries.

I agree with Ross - this is what the web site says:

The BMW i Three Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty offers complete protection against almost every eventuality and includes BMW Mobile Care.
The BMW i high voltage battery is warranted for up to 8 years from the date of first registration, or up to 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

I got my new bev just before Christmas . After nearly 3 years in a 60aH one I've noticed a few changes . The suspension on the new one is less "crashy" than the first one , but it is less sprightly ( I imagine the 94aH is heavier) . Range 50% better so that's a big improvement .
Not sure about the collision warning beeper - it thinks I'm going to crash even before my wife starts complaining ....
Active cruise is good but haven't tried park assist yet .

And I still enjoy driving the i3 every time I take it out , especially in town .

Hi all,

I could be a first time EV convert after a 70m drive today and a 24hr test drive booked in a couple of weeks.
I'm looking to swap my 150k miles 330d to a I3 REX for my 20k yearly commute with 80% motorway use.

My calculations show the cost of running a new I3 and the 330d to be similar over 48months.
The I3 would only be used for my daily 110 mile commute as I have a M6/360.

I had a quote from a dealership today but there didn't seem to be any discount beyond the £3100 dealer contribution. Also I was told a home charging point would be £575 which included a £500 grant.

My spec was as per below-
Loft
20" double spoke alloy
Sport package
Media package
Park assist package
Apr Delivery

Should I be looking for more discount or 0% APR rather than 1.3%?

Thanks

Just incase you aren't aware it is possible to configure the sensitivity of the collision warning; from memory the default setting was early. Mine is set on late and has only gone off once.

I'm in a similar position, looking at a brand new BEV. What is realistic in terms of dealer discount currently? I've had a few new M cars and generally have achieved 10-15% off list....

you are unlikely to get any discount, the dealers aren't dealers in the true sense, they are iAgents. so basically they are only allowed to present the price given to them by bmw and they receive a fee for dealing with the sale on BMWs behalf. I got a small amount off by playing one dealer off against another, but it wasn't much...

Thanks Greg.

So is the current dealer support and low APR good against what has been available for an i3 historically? Or shall I hang
on for a better deal?

i took delivery a day or so ago of my i3 REx, suite interior, big wheels pro nav etc etc for £260+VAT/month
i think that's a stonkingly low price for a decent car. shop around on the comparison sites and let us know what you got
