Loving my i3 around the city however the horn is embarrassing. I am thinking of a compressor linked to a couple of air horns. Has anyone changed their horn? If so are there any restrictions concerning either current or amps for the compressor?
That'll drain your battery like a Spitfire running out of ammo.Have to say, this is probably the only EV that actually looks like a dodgem car. ...
One of the guys in the UK i3 facebook group fitted a twin tone PIAA horn set

Do many of these sell privately? Has anybody actually bought one privately?
There are very few in the classifieds which suggests that I'm going to be better off trading mine in for their disappointing trade in value.
Try advertising it on the i3 UK facebook group - there are quite a few prospective purchasers on there. There are very few in the classifieds which suggests that I'm going to be better off trading mine in for their disappointing trade in value.

Yes. I often do a 110 mile round trip in ours and never use the Rex. Weather dependent of course. BTW, you'll find the i3 could become your fun car. 0-30 is faster than an M3.
I have just hit 20,000 miles with my 94ah I3 in the last 12 months. every day i commute 60 miles 40 of which are fast motorway miles. When I get home i usually have between 40 and 50% range remaining. If you regularly do 100 miles I personally think you would be more comfortable with the REX. Accidents can close a road and you will enjoy the car a lot more if you are not driving efficiently all the way. One of the best features of an electric cars is you can drive with a lead foot and still be efficient.
I think he means that they are very cheap to run, so no matter how much you boot it, it still won't be expensive.

So, did 150 miles in an i3Rex yesterday. 70mph on cruise on the motorway for 90 miles and Cheshire back lanes for the rest. Left my 2016 M135i at Williams Manchester while I have the car.
What a giggle!! The instant pull is addictive and the look of confusion from some drivers as they think 'oh god, electric car, I have to get in front of that or i'll never get home' as you shoot off into the distance out of every corner is priceless.
Managed 140 miles from a full charge before the Rex kicked in and the weather yesterday morning was horrendous so full heater, wipers and heated seats for a bit. I think that is really good and would certainly fit my needs. Popped in to show my parents the car and gave them a demo loop of 5 miles of dual carriageway and town center and only hit the brake pulling back up their drive, the regen braking is that good.
Have to take it back today and talk numbers but it is a very good car. A nice place to spend time and everything seems to be well thought out. I do a lot of cycling so take bikes and mates with bikes to races nearly every weekend and it was easy to load up and plenty of room with the seats down and the lack of B pillar is great. Don't think it will take a roof rack though and not sure the plastic panels would take a suction rack either. May need to google if anyone has done so.
Plastic panels mean less urgency to jump on the inevitable motorway stone chips and no more door dings but that windscreen is huge so plenty scope for picking up chips on that.
Was quite windy yesterday so noticed it was much more effected by cross winds but roll into corners is a lot less than expected, probably due to the weight being so low.
Did a quick post to my mates via Facebook and they usual came back. 'Can you get those on motorbility?, are you trying to grab a granny, i thought roller skates came in pairs, your street cred will be zero in that' so it shows the strange perception of these types of cars to petrolhead types.
The numbers today will sway my decision but can I live without the 'feeling part of the machine' and the noise of my 135? I need to think long and hard.
If I had the funds I would have either an M2 or some form of Lotus in the garage for fun and would sign on the dotted line straight away.
Great (not so little) car BMW.
Glad you enjoyed it! Your petrolhead mates will change their minds when you take them out in it. It is surprising how many ex-M135i drivers end up in an i3.What a giggle!! 330e driver here - my lease is up in November and our company get us to start choosing a new car 6 months prior to that.
Local BMW are being nice to me and giving me a 24 hour test drive of a new 93Ah i3s - my work commute is 78 miles round trip so I wanted to be able to test one now whilst the battery range will be at it's worst, compared to when I'd be able to get a test via fleet when battery life will be at it's best (mid summer).
What sort of workable range are people seeing from the new capacity? Admittedly there are 4x 22kW free chargers up the road from my work at a local sainsburys and they're looking to install chargers at work, but with a car park of 3500 cars you can imagine how easy it'll be to schedule charging times.
The minimum I have seen on my 94 is about 80 miles on a cold day after some reasonable lead footed driving.Local BMW are being nice to me and giving me a 24 hour test drive of a new 93Ah i3s - my work commute is 78 miles round trip so I wanted to be able to test one now whilst the battery range will be at it's worst, compared to when I'd be able to get a test via fleet when battery life will be at it's best (mid summer).

Well, range wise its the same as any other 94. There’s talk of the wider tyres impacting this but I don’t think you would notice it in the real world.
It’s got a bit more shove across the speed range. It definitely handles better and looks better.
If I was buying now, I would go with the i3s.

Does the service pack include the brake fluid change?
I’m led to believe from posters on the bmw thread that it doesn’t
