I shall try to help -

However, we'd clearly like to take advantage of the scheme if possible. So what actually is the current position?
Be quick its free

If we apply now are we likely to get in on the outgoing scheme for a free one?
Yes

Will we have to prove we have an EV or one on order?
No

And given we don't know what we might end up with which option is best?
Socket / T2 lead but don't worry about that.

Well, I've just completed the form and got a "Thank you for applying with Chargemaster" message on the form entry page. Hoping installers in North Wales are quieter than elsewhere in the country. Notice that there was no questioning about what kind of install you want - are the survey and installation completed on separate visits?

Anything complicated is getting bumped - I got that impression. When you arrange fitting they discuss what it entails and need to know the type or age of the cons unit

I registered on the website at the start of the month and received a letter in the post yesterday asking me to ring up to arrange a time. I haven't got an EV yet but wouldn't discount one in the future as a commuter (60 miles in total per day).

Rang up, in for Wednesday smile

Unfortunately the fuse box is on the wrong side of the house (it's a semi), so they may have to route round the outside. We'll see if it's an issue! I was expecting a separate survey but I suppose as they're pushed for time they're scrapping it. Maybe it's not an issue.

Just had my installation appointment confirmed for next week. Should only take 45 minutes to an hour apparently. I'm going for the upgraded version which will cost me the grand total of £95.

I take it those that don't have an EV are just leaving that section of the form blank?

Just out of interest, strudel / earlybay - have you both phoned to chase up applications you had already made? And if so, how long ago?

Yes, I phoned. Yesterday, being installed tomorrow.

The letter explicitly says contact by email or phone as soon as possible. The lady I spoke to was very helpful smile

Funnily enough as soon as I hit the button I thought 'bugger it', will give them a go and ask when I'm likely to see the letter at least. Got passed onto someone else who took my name, suggested they are snowed under and will try and get someone to give me a call back in next 24 hours. We shall see...

yes same here - filled in form online yesterday and got email by return saying to call ASAP to arrange appointment so called at 9.00 this morning - they were definitely looking for easy installs though ... ie my fuseboard is just inside the front door and point will be 3-4 metres away on front wall ..

Fingers crossed I get a phonecall quickly then as consumer unit is in garage and 3 ft from where I would like charger installed on the wall!

Unless you have an electric car on order in which case there is no rush.

Just got off the phone to them - now fully booked until the end of August so no free charger available until September when one has to own the EV in question.

Booked in for next week for a 32A unit. Phew!

There was some confusion over the socket type though. Told me that it's a universal one. confused
