WARNING !!!!! If you upgrade to 30a it comes in the post not with engineer. If engineer arrives before charger you get a jb only or get a 16a
Mine didn't come, hence 16a but I didn't know it was supposed to.
I opted for 16 over jb as getting one done later will be a ball ache
That's totally ridiculous! You are paying for a service it's not your responsibility to deal with poor logistics. I would demand what you asked for. Mine didn't come, hence 16a but I didn't know it was supposed to.

I received a text this morning saying a parcel would be delivered within the next hour. 45 minutes later it appeared. It was the charging unit itself. Good job I hadn't made any plans for this morning as I wouldn't have received it and it's getting installed first thing Monday morning. That would've been a potential half day off work wasted. There was no mention of this when I confirmed the installation.
Shoot, saw this too late, must remeber to look again once dad'd ordered his ampera, on the assumption that qualifies? Is there a list of cars anywhere? Could one say buy a g-wiz off ebay for £800, get the install, and then immediately sell on to make sure we got one as the new motor's not due 'til march when the new scheme ends?

Found the list of eligible cars here: https://www.gov.uk/plug-in-car-van-grants/eligibil...https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa... - this outlines the details you need to provide about the car in order to participate in the scheme. There doesn't seem to be anything preventing you from you buying, getting the install and selling on - however, have you already ordered your car for March of next year? That would make you eligible to get the install in the meantime.
Along these lines I'm thinking about writing an article on Mercedes-Benz foray into electric vehicles for the Luxury Leasing blog, and it would be great to get some personal opinions for the piece - has anyone had a hands-on with the SLS Electric Drive yet? Anybody excited for the B-Class Electric Drive?
It would be great to get a feel for people's thoughts on this, and users quoted will be fully credited in my final piece. I'll make sure to let you all know when it’s finished and put up.
The "engineer" never showed up. Several phonecalls later and I'm still none the wiser as to when they're going to install it. They did try to get me to agree to a midday booking on Thursday but that would mean me having to take another day off work on the off-chance they would show up which I'm not prepared to do. I had to end up taking the entire day off work today as they didn't get back to me when they said they did.
Chargemaster, you should be ashamed at your woeful organisational skills.

I had one fitted a year ago because I thought I might one day buy a Leaf.
On Saturday I ordered a Leaf.
Only went for the 16A job though. Didn't want to chuck £95 at something I might never use, and I'd already worked out that I'd only ever want to charge the Leaf at night, or just top it up during the daytime.
When mine was fitted two blokes were there. The sparky and an assessor. Good guys, kept them topped up with coffee and they even did some additional work to improve the earth bonding in the garage and kitchen. Bunged them both a few quid, everyone happy.

I can understand, but does the 16A fitting leave you with the possibility of easily upgrading in the future if you wanted to (e.g. you bought a more powerful car, you decided you needed a faster charge, etc.)?budfox said:
