...and who's getting an i8?
Discussion
Really enjoying mine; so much so that my 991 also felt 'so last century'!
Must admit I'm feeling smug each month as my fuel bills have dropped from average of £300 to £90!
The i8 is still a relatively rare car on the road and is a head turner - you'll get used to being pointed at! It actually gets more positive attention than some more exotic cars!!
The boot space is pathetic- they should have dispensed with the rear seats and made that a flat luggage shelf instead.

After 2 months in my i8 that's exactly how i still feel. Every other car I drive (and I have a few) they just feel - old technology. You watch all main manufacturers come out with Hybrids over the next few years. Must admit I'm feeling smug each month as my fuel bills have dropped from average of £300 to £90!

Not been on here for a while, there's some really good info on the ownership of an i8 in this thread.
I placed a deposit on one yesterday after an hour test drive and was wondering if I'd done the right thing.
Thought I'd come on here and see if it put my mind at rest, it did! Cheers chaps!

I'm 90% sure I'm going to pull the trigger on a new one of these tomorrow.
I just have one concern...has anyone had any problems with the electric "filler cap" being vandalised at a public charge point? It seems oddly designed, remaining open during charging, and very easy for some jealous scrote to just yank on and break off?
I know it's probably silly but things like that can really ruin ownership of anything.

I had problems with the petrol filler cap not opening (makes you feel a right twxxt in a petrol station fiddling around and then driving off. Fortunately, Vines of Guildford are i8 specialists and really know their stuff. Replaced the entire assembly,(I think someone had busted it off in anger because they too couldn't open the filler cap), but then had to re-configure the tank discharge rate, (it's a high pressure system) and it now opens every time.
Just go for it - you will absolutely love it!!
