Model S test drive
Discussion
I'm seeing a surprising number of these. (I live in SE London).
Up until last week I had seen none on public roads, but in the last 3 days I have seen 4, all on 64 plates.
So either Tesla are doing really well sales wise, or they are getting a lot of demonstrators/loan cars out. (Possibly a bit of both).

Test driven at the weekend, the car itself (P85) was all I expected it to be, amazingly competent but just one thing I noticed was the ride, every little bump and road strip was felt far too much and this was on 19" wheels not the sport 21".
Air suspension with no sport mode and tyre pressures were fine, just the low speed ride refinement was much worse then my A6 Hybrid, much worse.

I test drove a P85+ on Friday at Westfield and I was seriously impressed. It is incredibly refined and perfect for most of the hum-drum driving I have to do. I have put down a deposit and have confirmed my order so now all I have to do is wait.... Delivery was estimated for late December but the salesman thought it would more than likely be mid January.
I have gone for the regular 85 model S, I couldn't really justify the extra for the P85+ as the range is more important than the performance to me.
So far it has been a very enjoyable process. Telsa seem to have developed a much slicker process than the traditional manufacturers so the whole experience has been much much better than any car I have bought before. They are more akin to Apple than to any other car manufacturer in the kind of customer service they deliver.
If you are sitting on the fence then I urge you to go for a test drive, it is an incredible car built by a very exciting company. They are taking orders at Westfield for about 40 per month, so I expect to see the numbers on the road in London increasing rapidly as more and more people take delivery. I'm in rural Devon so I don't expect to see as many on the road down here....
