Don't mind pre reg at all just wanted to know if all the deals you guys are getting were pre reg too? I guess it really doesn't matter as its essentially a 2 year lease anyway.

I'm all for skinflint white if it saves me £10 a month! One thing the dealer mentioned was that motorway services are pay as you go for electric? I though they were all free but required a yearly membership?

I think your too late now for a new deal as they are all new cars not pre reg that have to be reg by 31st I ordered a week ago and it's coming 28th - if you get circa £3600 in total your doing ok

I had an extended (1.5 hr) test drive in a Zoe at the weekend, I really liked it.

So after much reading of forums and watching of YouTube I went back to the dealer and placed an order tonight. 24m at 10k/year on the car and battery. I was told at the weekend that all the solid white ones were gone so I'd no choice but to pay the extra for metallic paint, in the end I stumped up the extra £4 for the Artic White. Whole thing still costs less monthly than my current petrol costs.

Delivery isn't expected until January

Regarding the dash from the sales chap:
"Some people were finding that the lighter dash was causing sight issues so Renault offered black dash replacements to people if they needed it. Its not compulsory but in 2015 they may be producing all Zoe with black dash. I actually prefer the lighter dash"
Righto. He has clearly never driven it in sunlight. SHOCKING. I recall autocar (had one on their fleet for a while) saying something like they are surprised its not a recall item as the glare is dangerous. Less of a problem for me currently as I drive in permanent darkness.

Saying that I have had my Zoe 6mths, still have a light dash and love it. Pleased to see more people joining the clan.

What an incredible thread. Mass outbreak of EV purchasing on PistonHeads - and its French!
Looking forward to hearing about all the ownership stories, as I'm seriously considering a Zoe to replace my 2011 Leaf next year and keep the incoming Model S company.

One recommendation for all you new owners, especially if you are not using a home charger. Don't drive like a petrol car and charge up when the 'tank' is almost empty. Instead a 'splash n dash' approach is better. Use public charge points when you are the shopping centre and that sort of thing cos you just never know when you might want to make a detour or use the car more than you had planned that day.

I've just been called by Renault Colchester. Mine is ready for collection. But I'm stuck with the busiest day of the year at work, moving over the weekend, and flying out on Monday. I think I'll be collecting on the 29th frown

Should be collecting mine on Christmas Eve all being well.

What should I do to prepare?

I've seen mentions of Ecotricity, charging cards etc etc. It will charged at home 99% of the time but would be nice to have a few cards to sort us out. The local Intu shopping centre has charging points, do you just turn up and charge away?

Not sure when British Gas will be able to fit the charge point and won't find out until Monday, but chances are will be in the new year. My dealer will be lending me a mains plug charger until the point is fitted.

Do either of these come with the car, or should I be getting one now?

You buy them.

Charge your car - £20 a year and you link a card to your account for any chargers that are not free.
Podpoint - £12 a year - chargers free at the moment

Ecotricity card is free, as is the electricity. I reckon with a bit of tinkering I could use the Leaf to supply free electricity for my house.

I had a similar idea, perhaps adding extra batteries to be charged with free electricity for running the house.

How are you doing on the mpkWh score

So far mine is a lowly 3.22, mostly due to 65% of its total miles so far being on the motorway - largely at 70mph

I'm about 3.6mpKwh at the moment, but have had full A/C & lights on as the weather is dire.
