Collecting one this morning for a 24 hour test drive. Hope they give me a charge card as I'm hoping to give it a proper test and sign on the dotted line tomorrow.

Is the heater efficient ie hot ?
Yes, in normal mode, it's fine.

In Eco mode the HVAC power gets cut back a lot and is barely on in colder mornings. However, the aircon, in eco mode, is comparatively more effective in the summer that the heater is in winter.

Guess it pays dividends for cooling when you have cars equipped with heat pumps rather than typical aircon.

My Leaf has averaged 4.1Kwh/mile during the 4k miles I've driven.

I've tried reading all 19 pages, but can't see where the decision was actually made that the Zoe was better? Or is it just cheaper?

Different. I prefer it, the cabin has a nicer feel in my eyes.

I'm sure under the skin they are more or less the same car.

Zoe is Way way cheaper - over 2 years nearly 50% cheaper however the Leaf has heated seats a major omission on the Zoe

My Mrs hates the look of the Leaf but really likes the ZOE. Plus it's much cheaper = renault wins.

So it looks nice and it's cheaper?

Does it also come in nice colours and have a place for your handbags?

Come on, chaps - I'm looking for actual PH reasons here. Does it have more electric horsepowers, more buttons to play with, a lower centre of gravity for helmsmanship?

Not sure why you're looking for PH reasons to buy a short range shopping trolley/commuting tool?

Zoe has slightly longer potential range and is cheaper = winner.

hopefully that is 4.1 miles per kWh rather than the other way round - the way you put it is like saying a petrol car has done 30 gallons to the mile...

For me the Zoe has an on-board fast AC charger and it costs less than the Leaf.

Received a note of my registration number today, now to order some cards and wait for the transporter. smile

Also, found myself having some 'Zen' driving practice tonight - 22 miles to home (and the petrol station with the good fuel) with only 21 miles showing on the OBC - made it there with 14 miles left. smile

Okay here it goes...

Power to weight - Leaf (especially gen II)
Handling - Zoe
Looks - Zoe
Reliability - Too early to say but Leaf I recon.
Toys - Zoe unless its a top spec leaf
Colours - Leaf as the colours on the Zoe are all boring as ****
Value for money - Zoe by a lot.

Don't mind a bit of pedantry. Yes it's 4.1 thingys.

As to the point raised about whether the Zoe is the better car, I tried both and the Leaf won for me by a mile. It is certainly more expensive, but it's a much bigger car and a much nicer place to be. In truth a really good drive and a lot more powerful than the Zoe.

Had I wanted to go EV as cheaply as possible I'd have gone for the Zoe, as anyone would, but I wanted a good sized family car.

I've had a total electrical shutdown this morning when I've tried to move the car, all sorts of warning messages on the dash "electrical system failure" "charging impossible" etc.

Not very happy

Sorry was just trying to lighten the situation, didn,t realise it was such a serious situation you have other cars right?
Hope you give the garage hell after your experiences so far.
No offence intended.
All the best.
