New one out early summer - expect more discounts on current then
With slightly increased range (8miles IIRC) but without the ability to fast charge at 43kWYou buy the car from renault. They pass your details on to BG and the contract to install is with you and BG.
You can't really blame renault for BG being useless and I doubt they have any sway with them.
You can use any charge point installer though do a Google for a local firm and see if they can do it quicker maybe? Also worth a complaint to renault and see if you can wangle a free flexi charger. Worked for a few on this thread.
Had my charge point installed today. British gas arrived at 9am and sorted it without issue, not tested it yet though. The invoice amount was circa £850...

Weird one with my new charger.....
When you plug the charger in you get the associated high pitched whine, to be expected and normal. Go into the kitchen and make some soup on the induction hob and the same whine is detectable in the kitchen/family room (open plan). It's just at a level that makes it really quite irritating.
Unexpected and very unwelcome. One way round it is to schedule the charge to after midnight but is there any hard fix for it that anyone's aware of. And what causes it?

Our microwave does the same, investigating a fix. When you plug the charger in you get the associated high pitched whine, to be expected and normal. My BG install is tomorrow, cancelled once. Will let you know........
This is the other issue, whilst our install is booked for 3rd February I have little confidence that BG will actually show up on this date given past experience of them !GF is meant to be getting on to Renault this morning to see if she can borrow a cable, if no luck with the dealers I'll get her to contact Renault UK.
I guess it is only 3 weeks but the car is sat at the dealers ready to go and her highly reliable VW Polo is falling apart more by the day (and I'm fed up with fixing it tbh).

Go on the website and start an online chat, ask then to call you back. That's how it worked for me.
I'd imagine the dealer will be unable to help. It's not something they'll just have lying about and I doubt they will be keen on ordering you one in at their expense.
To be fair to BG they did mine yesterday with no bother at all. Turned up on time, neat job, nice chap.
BG were scheduled to carry out my install this coming Friday, but the guy called me as he was in the area and did the install yesterday evening – did a good job and all working OK.
My next challenge is that they only have 10a type 1 Pod Point chargers at work. I did the online chat thing with Renault and they advised me not to use the 10a chargers regularly (presumably compromises battery life somehow?), that the car would take 18 hours to fully charge, and that if I wanted a lead I could buy one for £495
I’ve emailed Pod Point asking for prices for a Zoe compatible Type 2 charge point, which I will then use to try and persuade the building manager to upgrade a couple…

I got a free cable by going direct to Renault customer services.

I also got a free 10a cable by going dorect to Renault CS & moaning nicely about the delay in British Gas coming to do the home install - ordered via dealer & I've picked it up today. I did manage to get a cable from Renault too. I did buy a charger from nuworld, 32amp for just over £300 out of memory.
BG still messin me around, sent second complain today and eventually got a call back, they are now trying to arrange a weekend installation as normal schedule installations are all booked for the next 3 weeks!

I've had my car since last Friday but don't yet have a home charger. I've used it every day (45-50 miles/ day) and have been charging at a public 22kW charger in a nearby town on my way home from work each night. Even in this weather the car takes on 17.5kWh in just over an hour. Relying on public charging is not ideal but it's worthwhile as I've saved me £50-60 in fuel so far.
I'd planned on taking a walk while waiting on the charging however with the wet and wild weather we've been having here on the West Coast of Scotland I've taken to sitting in the car watching some NOW TV on my mobile, an hours P&Q before coming home to the usual domestic strife is not a bad way to finish the working day.

Guys came out yesterday to install my charging point, they discovered that my house does not have any earth bonding There are earth cables in place but not connected to anything. There are earth bonding cables across the pipes in the bathroom but god knows what they are actually connected to. Apparently my gas boiler shouldn't have been signed off as complete 2 years ago without this. It's been serviced twice and had work done on it by worcester bosch and nobody has mentioned it.
Got a mate who's a spark coming out at the weekend to have a look and hopefully getting it sorted next week. The installers reckon they can come back within a couple of days when it's sorted.
Back to hanging about in carparks for another while.
