Tomorrow will tell... Should of also mentioned the Zoe has the free serviceing, breakdown pack etc so would have to factor those costs into the Leaf.

I've been told I only have the car in our showroom to sell at this moment which is not on any clearance so unfortunately I won't be able to get near the offers you have been offered Insight. No news on any cars with the extra money I need.

Wish I could do more but no other deals forthcoming right now!

mr in51ght, are you able to share the source of the deal you have on the table, or is it your secret?

The Leaf Tekna deal has been sweetened. It's now for 7.5k per annum with a £99 deposit and £188.63 a month. Price is for a solid colour (Red) and battery is included.

I'd probably go with the Leaf at those figures. Leather and heated seats/steering wheel do it for me. smile

Leather is a nonsense in cars at these prices.

The Renault dealer I'm talking to has suggested I can get the same PCP through my Ltd Company, which makes it even cheaper

This is getting crazy, after test driving the Zoe today I asked the salesman to go through the PCP again. Exactly the same terms as the previous one but this time instead of £183 a month (over 3yrs) it's now dropped to £164.81p, as a new contribution has come in since my visit on Monday.confused

After driving both cars I was definitely convinced the Leaf was the better car (felt a little more special, as well as the extra space), espesially as the difference was only £3 a month extra. Now that's changed and the savings will be Nearer a £1,000 (takes into account other things) over the two years, I'm unsure it's that much better. Even my wife thought the Zoe felt cheaper but preferred the size and style of the Zoe but, could be easily swayed now to my way of thinkingsmile

My biggest problem is time constraints the Nissan deal is only till the 19th Dec and the Zoe till end of the month but, we are off skiing on Sat and not back till 23rd Dec. Either car has to be registered, with finance secured before those dates expire. We didn't want to take possession of the car till the first of March as we already have two vehicles and it means extra insurance etc. So we have decided to wait till nearer the time (mid Feb) and keep our fingers crossed that the deals are still around, unless anyone knows anything different?

the offers might be even better by the time you actually want one...

I have put an offer to a few Renault dealers which, if one can can agree to, will see me signing for one the moment they can the paperwork ready...

If more than one can do the deal on the terms I have proposed, I feel the need to let them make a best and final offer but, for now, I am expecting my bid to be lower than they can reach. Time will tell.

Still seriously interested in a new zoe, but as I've only ever bought second hand cars I'm not at all clued up on finance options like pcp.

The Renault offers seem to be based around a 4 year term, which is a little long. When I questioned whether a shorter term was possible, the salesman said I'd probably break even after a couple of years so could trade up / sell with nothing more to pay. How likely is this? Also, what about the battery lease, is this something I'd have to buy myself out of somehow?

As I say, I'm really keen on a Zoe but I'm worried I'm going to make a mistake through being ill informed. Can anyone put my mind at rest?

Shorter terms are available. I don't see why they wouldn't offer it to you if you want it?

You can have the PCP and batteru both over 36m and just hand the car back at the end.

I was meaning to post your first Zoe deal was too high. Mine is £195 per month for 10,000 miles with £99 deposit. The renault contribution is very good at the moment.

I never got the chance to drive the leaf. Can you answer a burning question, whats the 0-60 like compared to the Zoe. I ask as the Zoe was reported as 8.x to 60, which was fine for me but now its been updated to 13.x! The leaf is reported as 11 or something but I know from experience they are much quicker. I had a traffic light play with one in my old 240bhp MR2 and off the mark it was rapid.

  • EDIT* just as a heads up too, you do know the leaf and Zoe use different charger plugs too right? If you get a leaf charger installed at home it wont fit a Zoe and you only get one shot at it with the gov grant.

To be honest I didn't thrash either of them but, both felt pretty quick off the line. So much so, I think it would be difficult to asses the fastest one, other than an actual traffic light drag race.

My charger (Rolec) works on both cars so no problems there. I've decided to wait till February now before I pull the trigger as I can't justify 3 cars or the added costs for two people, espesially with limited space on the drive.

Hoping for a call back from the dealer this afternoon so I can order through my Ltd Co. The Renault PCP entends to Ltd Co's so the tax benefits are pretty reasonable.
