Guys - word of warning, I got Zoe to take a real hissy fit tonight and throw up a "check electrical system" fault and basically die on me.

When you turn the car on, wait for the warning lights to go off (ie fully booted up) before you attempt to select drive. I didn't and somehow the car missed the fact the lever was in drive, thought it was still in park and then it when a bit nuts and threw up the fault.

I had to put it back into P and turn it off and on a couple of times to get it to reset. Been fine since though.

So like all women she needs to be turned on properly before she'll perform. biggrin
I've had a total electrical shutdown this morning when I've tried to move the car, all sorts of warning messages on the dash "electrical system failure" "charging impossible" etc.

Not very happy

As you've seen mines threw a mental the same way, but I'm not convinced there's an actual real physical fault, just an annoying bug if you try to move into drive and the software misses the change. I had read other posts on the EV forum about the same sort of thing. Have you managed to reset your Zoe and its okay or is it literally dead/flat bed job.
Nothing would cure it, it's been taken away on a flatbed.

The chap at Renault customer care I have just spoken to said when the "Electrical Fault" warning shows, in reality it should say "you're gonna need a flatbed".

He was very polite & helpful.

I'm going to be without the Zoe until some time early new year.

Really pissed off.

ETA

Renault Sheffield have requested they collect the car from the dealers it currently resides at so they can look into it, they said if they are not 100% happy it's repaired they sort things out, once again, can't fault them.

Daniel at Renault Sheffield is as gutted as I am!!

if you are resigned to paying for the fuel, then any little bit back you get is a bonus

surely worth mentioning to renault UK when your are back in a (working) Zoe that you spent £X on fuel in the Polo when you would have only spent £Y on electricity

you might get a cheque
Looks like the 400v system is shot. The dealer thinks it may need a new 400v battery & control unit.

Not good on a 4 day old car.

Renault Sheffield have been more than apologetic about my problems, they have been super fair and I am still impressed with their level of service. They have bent over backwards to make sure I am happy.

City Motors Brustol are ubable to determine what's wrong with mine and are having to wait until new year before a ZE expert can even look at it.

So, 3 hours into Zoe ownership, my car appears to be borked.

I charged it at a rapid charger which worked fine, then went to my local ASDA and used one of the Polar posts, only to get 'Charging Impossibe' appear on the car.

No matter what I did, trying all sorts of things on Google, it wouldn't charge, tried 3 other charge points, including the Rapid that I tried earlier, still didn't work.

So it's back to the dealership this morning, also discovered the parking sensors don't work too rage
Some of the Polar posts can cause issues. Try it at a known good charger, should reset it apparently.

Doesn't sound like the same issue I had as my issues rendered the car immobile.

Hope your issues are no more serious than a software glitch.

The fault has been narrowed down to a faulty traction battery, so a new one will arrive at Renault on Monday, it's possible (according to Bristol Renault) that I may be on the road again on Tuesday.

1st charging point disaster.

Registered with Polar and got the app on the phone sorted, credited the account (which is st as the only point we're likely to use is a free one!).

My wife got there and it wouldn't work. Rang the helpline and there is some issue with compatibility with Zoes and an "earth leak" was mentioned? Fek knows? Anyway. On 50% now. Hopefully picking up the granny cable sat morning.

If that doesn't materialise then we are fooked when back at work next week.
Talk to Renault, I believe their is a fix.

I'm assuming my car is repaired as I've just received an email from it telling me it's been put on charge.

Well thankfully everything (so far) on the repaired Zoe seams to be in order.

Still have a small amount of trepidation every time & get in the drive at the moment.

OK, so after a total electrical failure on day for of Zoe ownership the car was rejected & exchanged for a brand new replacement.

8miles into my first tri in the new car today I think " the heating isn't working", I pull over to have a play with the settings & there's a noise like a petrol chainsaw coming from under the bonnet, heat pump is FUBAR I recon.

Really bloody annoyed now, two out of two cars have had issues, one after 4 days, one after 8 miles.

I'm thinking of handing back & walking away at this point, maybe I'll have calmed down in the morning.

Here's the noise
