Well then.

Just called City Motors for an update.......

The diagnostic laptop has broken, waiting on the replacement to be upfated.

Brilliant.
This sounds like a poor excuse? Doesn't sound like the sort of fault you fix with a PC?
I realise I'll sound cynical here, but genuinely I think it's because main dealers these days don't employ anyone with any decent technical knowledge or diagnostic ability. They employ someone who can plug a laptop in, read off the symptom/cure,and who knows that if you remove those 4 screws, the entire module containing the faulty part will come out and can be replaced with another complete module. Never mind the fact that the fault may simply be a broken wire, or a leaking seal - they cannot and do not repair anything, only replace, and pass the resultant cost on.

I'd wager that a good number, if not the majority, of current MD workship staff would stand zero chance of being able to diagnose and repair, say, a 25 year old car.

Just got off the phone to customer care, basically got told I should think myself lucky they are delivering a hire car (24hrs after the car went wrong).
So you are getting a hire car. Why so much anger?
Jesus.

Zoe 1 died after 150miles & 4 days, Renault replaced the vehicle, that car died after 1mile. You wonder why I'm cross.
It is unfortunate (and I expect very unlucky), but not deliberate. Your car is under warranty and Renault are dealing with it. That's the benefit of a new car. Not trying to be annoying, but modern cars do fail at times and provided you are covered why worry, except for the logistical annoyances around alternative car pick up, etc. I had serious issues on a new car a while back (not a Renault, not an EV) from a leading UK brand and the dealer support was way less than you are getting.

Or alternatively say nothing more to irritate an already irritated owner wink

So then, we are now up to day 33 of Zoe ownership, of which time the car has been in my custody for just 12 days!!!!

Renault's latest excuse is technically I've only had a single failure. The fact that it was a single failure after 4 days on the first car & a single failure after 1 mile on the replacement car doesn't seam to worry them.

I see Renault are bringing the traditional Renault ICE ownership experience to the world of EVs

The legal situation I can't comment on

BUT I do think its time for Mr Renault to start getting some action going and start thinking in terms of compensation or a REFUND.

Its mindblowing really they want people to move over to EVs - youd think they would be moving to nail down any issues as a matter of urgency. Not this messing about

Some good news.

Despite being told there is no stock anywhere, a batch has just arrived at Renault parts depot in the UK.

Should be with the dealer in 2-3 days.

Could have been so much worse.

And it should also have been a lot better for you in terms of how Renault have handled it....

Id still be keeping the pressure on with Renault to ensure that this is A FINAL fixed car and that they will consider compensation/refund should this 2nd car post repair be bothersome

I wish you all the best either way

now, not sure if it is me getting paranoid after having read all in51ght issues, but my heater/blower started to make noise this morning, similar to in51ght but much less louder, but very easy to hear on a very quiet car. And it is sending a light vibration throughout the car. It was the first day sub zero (-6) so I want to hope it was juts over working. Anyone else had anything similar?

Get it checked out, if it is a fault there are parts in the country as of yesterday (assuming it's the same fault as mine)

Not deliberate? What the flip does that mean?

As for the rest of it - you seem to be saying that because your dealer support was worse the OP should be grateful or something?

The idea of getting a new car is (in part) that this stuff should be a rarity. If it isn't (as in this case) then the manufacturer hasn't done the overall job of design and manufacturing properly.

Log a complaint with customer care, if there's a common issue here they need to act on it.

Plus1

Whether they are stupid or just incompetent is irrelevant - their customer service and probably their product is defective - get it sorted or give the man his money back .

Just to make you feel a bit better.....

Meant to be picking up the gfs new Zoe in an hour, dealer just called sounding very sheepish as it won't charge !

Lending her the demo until it is fixed so we can make sure the home charger works etc.

So she hasn't even driven it and it has broken down !

I know it's a high;y selective straw poll, but still rather alarming to hear these issues.

This is looking really bad for the reliability of the Zoe.

I'm slightly worried.
